The man with the upside down head - born different

MEET THE man who literally sees the world upside down - because his neck is folded back on itself. Claudio Vieira de Oliveira, from Monte Santo in Brazil, was born with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC, a rare genetic disease that causes joints in the body to become permanently fixed in a bent or straight position. At birth doctors told Claudio-s mother that he wouldn-t survive for even 24 hours but Claudio, now 45, defied their predictions and has gone on to live a full life as a successful motivational speaker. Although Claudio requires his family-s help with dressing, cooking and washing, he has adapted to life upside down, learning to use his phone with his mouth and walk with the help of special splints he straps beneath his legs. He's now the president of a non-profit organisation alongside his best friend Adnilson - who he considers his arms and legs - that works with vulnerable children, giving them haircuts and clothes and giving them time and resources to play

Incredible adaption. Just wondering if a neck/shoulder brace worn when he was much younger, before the ligaments/tendons and muscles atrophied, could have prevented his head flopping back and become what is now obviously permanently locked back into this inverted position as his childhood photo shows his head still more or less upright.
Irrelevant to speculate on what could have been though.
What a truly remarkable will he has to tackle life with such optimism.

fixable. You need to put a brace under the head and then slowly move it back upwards with regular vibrations over time. The body can reform. If the bones are an issue than you can fix that too. I need to see Xrays for this one to fix him. it has to be done slowly. problem is often they want to fix something like this all at once.

The most important function of our body are brain, eye and ear. But with the limbs and legs, moreover, head are at such position we will very very suffer. You are very inspiring that give everyone strength and persistance to walk through our lives.

4: 31 his knee and legs pads, sort of like the soles of a shoe are great! I had thought that it must get incredibly painful to put his full weight on his knees and shine. Particularly on land or floors that aren-t completely flat and smooth

I don't cry often, but I cried at this. The guy's courage and willpower is extraordinary. What a struggle he goes through every day, and how uplifting it is that he can still greet the morning with a smile. Amazing individual.

I hope the super doctor-s of our world see this and can/should help. There is nothing they cannot do. Just think of what they did for Yahya, little boy born without a face. These doctors are special and work miracles.

And now he's live on tiktok every day for hours, begging people to send him gifts (money) so he can buy eyedrops. Idk why he stopped his talks, but it's kinda sad.
reply

My question is why did the doctors suggest a surgery to reposition his head when thats way riskier than trying to do that with his arms or legs

Bersabarlah. Dunia cuma fana yang tertinggal. Tuhan punya rencana indah. Ada kehidupan abadi yang menunggu. Surga yang telah dijanjikanNya

In all honesty he could be in a horror movie and make a fortune. This is one of the most bizarre things I-ve ever seen.
reply

Shame on me for being depressed. We should be so very grateful for the smallest (yet BIGGEST) of things.
