DATING is tricky at the best of times - but even harder when you have a disease with as much stigma surrounding it as HIV. Las Vegas-based Lexi Gibson, 30, was born with HIV but wasn-t diagnosed until she was two and her mother passed away from the condition when Lexi was four. Lexi was told by doctors that she wouldn-t live beyond the age of 13 and was bullied badly throughout her school years. Huge improvements in medication mean nowadays Lexi only has to take one pill daily which leaves the virus at completely undetectable levels in her system, but the stigma about HIV remains - making dating a challenge. Past partners have feared catching the illness or tried to keep her HIV status a secret, with one potential suitor fleeing mid-date after finding out about Lexi-s diagnosis. However, Lexi is now a life coach, passionate HIV advocate and founder of the non-profit StopHate Educate - and found love with musician Jade, 26. Jade says she felt worried about Lexi-s health when she was first told, but now understands that Lexi-s zero 'viral load- means there-s no possibility of Lexi passing on HIV

I really love them, I wish them the best of luck & I wish people weren-t so mean! Also as someone who use to be a dental assistant I learned from a lot of my patients that they never knew they had it until they got really sick. So the woman in the video is actually 110% right when she said people just have to get tested! It-s so sad that people think the only way to catch it is to sleep with a lot of random people. When I-ve had people tell me they caught it from being married & their spouse cheating on them or being born with it like the woman in the video etc.

i remember watching lexi on mtv true life and she always stayed in my thoughts! she-s extremely beautiful not just outside but her energy. i-m good at reading people and i can honestly say she has some of the purest loving energy i-ve seen in a person. i do remember a while ago hearing about the passing of her ex (who was featured in the episode as well) and i felt heartbroken for her. i-m glad to see she-s doing well these days!

I love their relationship. I love that her gf didn't judge her and was able to educate herself. I think everyone should educate themselves before judging someone who has an sti that's not curable. I love the way her gf thinks. This is a beautiful couple.

I dated a guy. Like that ocd. Ask me for HIV test all my test were negative. I left him because I could not take him annoyin me with his issues. Because I have excema an acne he automatic judged. It's sad how the world is bias. The world is cold.

H. I. V. IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE. ANYMORE. 20+ years ago yes, BUT NOT NOW. LET'S STOP THE STIGMA. I wish someone would tell this girl - The advancement they've made in medication for this particular MEDICAL CONDITION is outstanding! #U=U. 2022

I didn't know HIV medication has advance so much. That's wonderful news for those who have it. When I was a kid in the 90s it was a death sentence to contract it, so make sense why everyone segregated their children from those who had it.

Im from kenya, in 90s HIV was something that got many people stigma, people use to avoid anyone who had it, discrimination was the order of the day. but since arvs come people live normal you cant even know someone has it

The ignorance of it all. you can get it from a blood transfusion. women in Africa get it even when they are not promiscuous and have been with one man all their life. Stop with the judgement.

I want out with someone born with hiv. There mother pass it on to them. They never faced this discrimination. Maybe they did but never open up about it

That statement about everyone getting tested is the key to ending this pandemic. That is powerful and that is what we should be spreading not hate.

I-m glad at the end she find happiness in. And she found a partner who understands her and except for her for who she is and not by her illness.

If it-s undetected doesn-t that technically mean it-s gone? I need to go watch a few science lessons I-m ignorant and it-s making me sad

I lost a father to HIV. That was before there was medicine to help change the lives of people with HIV. This was really cool to watch.

Paid actors real life scenarios, all paid by big pharma. The got medicine for HIV but no cure for herpes. Don't believe the hype homie.

she was literally born with it. thats not her fault. its so sad that she was bullied for something totally out of her control

I-m so glad there are advances in medicine. They test you when you-re pregnant now. I-m sure it saves a lot of lives.
