80's goth gets a 'plain jane' makeover - transformed

ASHER describes himself as a -trad goth- and is inspired by the 80's goth scene. He always wears black and loves to accessorise with lots of silver jewellery. Makeup definitely helps express myself, he told Truly and says he is inspired by drag. The makeup is a massive part of the look as it is the first thing people look at when he is out and about. Today MUA Lia Natasha is transforming Asher from an 80's trad goth into something super glam. Will Asher like his new look and will his mum prefer it?

The thing I have come to realise is that when people say they don't feel like they are a woman or don't identify with girlhood as a woman, its often a perception issue. Womanhood is about having XX chromosomes. It has nothing to do with feminine stereotypes that you might not conform to. You might want to dress or act differently than some feminine society standards but it just makes you a different type of woman and not a man. It is also saddening that the people who should be helping her work through these feelings are affirming a lie. The God she hates is the one that loves her the most and is the one she desperately needs. It's not loving to lie to someone or affirm their lies to make them happy. Real love is telling them the truth even though it means that they might not like you. You don't lie to, for, or with those you loves. May God bring you out and heal your heart. You are a beautiful woman created in God's image and he cares for you more than you will ever be able to grasp. That is why he says the truth to you in scripture and says no to you sometimes. It's for your good and His glory.

i literally don-t understand how there can be so many homophobes in this comment section- first of all if you don-t agree with his views then why are you taking your time to judge the video and spreading negativity in the comment section. like it makes no sense how is anybody effecting you- second of all if you know anything at all about goth/ alternative culture, you would know it-s about breaking free from standards and society-s view on beauty and expressing yourself however the hell you want, so why should anyone tell them how to dress and act to be -properly goth--.

her make up makes her look very ugly FACT. yet shes actually very good looking. she should have a proper makeover not put her in a granny dress. she could still dress like a goth. but its her loss not to learn how to apply make up.
i cant get over how good looking she is yet destroys it with horrible rubbish childish make up

She looks beautiful with the makeover, she-s so happy this way. It-s so funny how on all of these makeovers their friends laugh and shame them when they know they look way better made up with the new makeover. It-s almost like the friends and boyfriends are so jealous that they look so good.

This reminds me of when I was younger. Though it was a bit different in the early 2000-s. More like a punk emo with goth aesthetic. I still dress and express myself that way as an adult. It-s just more polished and put together. I-m also successful so the stereo types are garbage.

Asher, your Makeup skills are amazing and I happy you are living your authentic life. Asher's mom, you're an amazing, amazing mama. The love you have for your child was legit palpable through this video. TY for supporting your kiddos and setting an example for others! Xoxo!
reply

Just a note, NO parent likes how their kid looks with that crap on their face. Accept? Maybe. Like? No. That emotional reaction is because, regardless of the 'white? lies' told to make the kid feel better, a parent wants to see their kid's actual face.
reply

The mom wants her daughter back, you can tell by her reaction. In another era Asher would just be a tomboy, just because you're not a -girly girl- doesn't mean you are a dude. Hopefully Asher doesn't start mutilating herself with surgeries and hormones.

i'll never understand how people can tease their hair everyday and its still healthy, and i only bleach mine once a year or so and its falling apart lmao
he looks awesome both ways!

I can't believe she's only 16! She looks a lot older. I think the goth actually suits her a lot better than the -normal- clothes - it's so interesting how people really fit their personas.
reply

OMG HIS MUM IS THE SWEETEST--
Asher looks amazing both ways but he seems so uncomfortable in those pink clothes.
Always protect you goth kids they're precious--

his sense of style is so cool, i really want to try dressing like this. the trad goth aesthetic is so eyecatching, love the monochromatic color scheme.
reply

Thats how u know somones been doing a certain makup style for awhile if he can do it in 30 min. It takes me like 30 min just for like my eye liner---
reply

AWWWW for a 16 year old, his style and makeup skills really blows me away. -I live in a retirement home--he looks like he lives in a very nice home.
reply

The world is so confused. The fact that people are referring to this person who is clearly a WOMAN, as -he- is actually insane lol
reply

You know, being a parent doesn't mean you make your children happy all the time. It's your job to set boundaries and be a parent.
reply

this video makes me really upset because I feel like if they had gone for the same style but male he would have had a great time
reply

30 minutes for makeup? damn i'm a cosmetology student and it takes me two hours to do my everyday trad goth makeup
reply

I aspire to look like him, I love thetrad goth style (also goth music is absolutely wonderful, you should listen)-
reply

Asher, I can-t draw a straight line on my eyelid and you have full geometric shapes on your face! Your makeup is art.
reply

all of the transphobia in the comments, i honestly wasn-t aware that some people are still this thickheaded!
