I understand the representation of all shapes and sizes, i. e. human shapes and sizes which she was like or close to at 0: 48. That's plus-size right there. Take a note from Ashley Graham, she has a big body as some of us have. She ain't skinny obviously, and she ain't obese. She has the human shape like this lady here used to have 0: 48. But she crossed the line. There is plus-size and then there is super-size which she is. Anyone can say all they want but the human body is not designed to operate efficiently with too much weight beyond its limits, i. e. beyond the human shape. Why glorify abusing your body like that and putting it under unnecessary stress and strain. The heart for example has to abnormally enlarge itself just to keep up thereby weakening in the process. There is nothing normal about that and surely nothing to glorify. She is a beautiful lady and I respect her as a fellow human in this journey of life; but that body size ain't right. She don't even need to be skinny. She just needs to regain her human frame as a proper plus-size. For now, she is a super-size: Lumps, blob and flab ain't right.
Be merciful to your body girl. It does a lot for you. Treat it well. It deserves that much. Don't it?

I want to my Dr once to see if my cholesterol was ok, people kept telling me that being big meant I had high cholesterol. Well, blood sugar, fine, blood pressure, fine, cholesterol, lower than my Dr. s and wonder what I ate! Lots of veggies, that figures. A lot of people have genetic factors that keep them heavy. You say just eat less, exercise more. Doesn't work for all. On the flip side, I am stronger than most women U know. I may be fat, but can you lift a 200 pound man?

She seems sweet, but I feel so bad for her. The last thing us black women need is to go along with the whole fat acceptance movement. Vele in the black community, being fat has BEEN accepted so to what level now? It's so unhealthy, no wonder diabetes, hypertension and other linked conditions are so high with us. Literally carrying so much weight. It's a physical burden and an unnecessary way to live. I think the first thing needed in these situations is therapy because all the weight is merely a symptom of an underlying mental problem.

I call MYSELF 'Fat' and-or 'Obese' because it's a simple fact. I'm 300 pounds, 5'10-.
So I'm fat AND I Love My Body because it's MINE. It has nothing to do with shame.
And I am in the process of slowly losing weight, because my mother died at age 42. I lost 50 pounds already, in the last 6 months. I'm proud of my achievement. I can't say I love myself more than before, because I already loved myself since early childhood, that's part of my family culture.

There is nothing wrong with being in love your body but this is absolutely not healthy. I gained 10 kilos since the pandemic started and even though I'm not obese (just little overweight ) I still have lots of health issues due to my current weight. My period is not regular any more and my knees hurt sometimes when I go up and down the stairs. I can't even imagine how much damage that extra weight has done to her body. How can such a beautiful woman be so ignorant?

If the title was -I'm called 'disgusting' and 'nasty'. - then ok, I'd understand why she is offended and regardless of what you think of someone and their appearance, you should never say anything hurtful or mean.

The problem is she-s acting like being fat is something that happens to you instead of something that you do to yourself. She needs to focus on what it is that is keeping her from losing weight whether it is a mental block, or whatever. But this is not it. Self love and positivity are one thing but it is another to be in denial and ignore the deeper issue and calling it -body positivity-.

Body positivity is about things you can't change. being overweight to the extreme is not something to be applauded. Its a borderline excuse not to actually do something for your self, she says keep doing what. gaining weight to the point she cant overturn this? Is this really a positive example?

Her self esteem is awesome. Her weight has not held her back. She's comfortable in her skin. What she's doing is showing her confidence and how she as a beautiful black sister chooses to deal with it. It's not easy and for me she's an inspiration.
