ETHAN Bramble has 98% of his body tattooed - but he's now decided to remove his facial ink. Ethan, 25, from Queensland Australia bought himself a tattoo machine when he was 12 or 13 and started tattooing his legs. He got his first professional tattoo when he was 15 and kept going. When he was 17 he started getting into body mod. When he was 19, he started to become more experimental with implants and even had his eyes tattooed. However, in the past few years, he has started slowing down with tattoos since the birth of his daughter Nyx. He has grown tired of people consistently judging him, so has started the process of having his face tattoos removed by laser surgery. He has the treatment every two weeks; it is extremely painful but Ethan says that it is worth it

Persons with tattoos now account in the USA for about 25% of the adult population. Tattooing as a trend has spread across the world, primarily from the USA, to even very conservative countries like the Philippines. I looked up -tattooing-excessive- to see if it's listed in the DSM 5 diagnostic manual---nope. That said, there probably is something related to obsessive compulsive tendencies to get ever more intense body ink, piercings. As well, I think there is a bit of an -addictive- tendency/quality to returning for more and more tattooing. I wonder if there is at some level a dislike of one's own -natural- skin-people DO want to create adornments (earings, clothing, coloring hair) and in various African tribes we see unusual body shaping and scarring that is seen as a beautification of the body. So, tattoos are fascinating and truly are so personal to each individual.

He says who cares? The person he loves the most cares. She will have to learn an additional suit of armour to protect herself from the eternal comments for the rest of her life when introducing him. If she is not so strong she will be embarrassed forever. To removing tattoos whilst still having more seems a little misguided to say the least. The word obsessive springs to mind.

- Ah, he was originally so beautiful. Black eyes? He could've gotten colored contacts. - So sad that he modified himself this far. He was so beautiful. He is still relatively nice looking considering everything he's had done, but without tats he'd have been so much more handsome. -

I think that this dude is completely stoopid, becouse it, s make no sense to do a tattoo and then erase it, just becouse you dont like it any more! EVERY ONE OF US SHOULD BE CONSCOUS THAT A TATTOO IS A PERMENENTE SIGN ON THE SKIN! SO IF YOU' RE NOT SURE OR HAVE REGRETS DON'T DO IT---
reply

Ik he will regret it when I first saw his modifications and over tattooed and body modifications he's a handsome man tbh but ruined his handsomeness by over tattooed and over body modifications hahaha I hope and wish he get back his beauty and handsomeness back asap

Tattoos don-t make you a bad parent, but people thinkthey do. So I think it-s very brave of you getting them removed because you want people to be kind to your daughter, since people can be rude about how your parents look sadly. Either way, cool dad!

Seems like a good guy. Props to him for going through all of that pain for his daughter. I also liked what his partner said:
-I like him for more than is what's on his skin. -
Such a sweet and supportive way of saying it.

I love tattoos but never been a fan of them on the face. But if that's what someone wants more power to him. The fact that you are doing it for your daughter shows how much of a great dad you are. Just make sure you are still happy.

I hope he has a possibility to get rid off the Tattoo scars. And than he should do something with his ears. In the end he should find a way for his eyes. Beautiful man, get back to normal. Better
reply

It is almost that he was too handsome for his liking. He got attention from that so decided to go in the opposite direction. I think he might need some therapy to to confront these feelings.

I think when it comes to tattooing the eyes youre in tricky waters. Who decided to try that? is it ethical of the -artist-? the stakes just seem way too high to ever play at the table.
reply

Wow. he's gorgeous with and without the tats. Especially because he seems like a cool person and caring father and partner. I enjoy watching his journey and i really wish him well.

It-s very sad that he has to simulate into how society wants him to look instead of how he wants himself to look so his daughter can feel and be accepted into broader society. -

This is exactly why as a Black Man I never had any tattoos I-m 6-6 tall and people ask me all the time to get tattoos but I told them I don-t follow trends I-m a free thinker
reply

I-m not against barely anything, everyone can do what they want. But I-d be lying if I said it doesn-t make me sad when hot people completely cover up their good features
reply

Honestly, why do people care so much what you look like while ur caring for ur child? The point is being a good dad to her - not looking very very basic while doing it.
reply

Live and let live, but you lose me with the eye tattoos. Too many people literally lost their sight or severely diminished it with doing this. Just not worth it!
reply

The process is coming along fine. It takes times. Ive experienced some things as well. You will get through this. I wish you and your family the best young man

reply

that's why cancer disease increasing day by day, is there any proof that white blood cell take away the ink, isn't harmful for body
reply

Wow so gross, glad you are getting rid of it. But the dangly pieces of flesh from you earlobes is much more disturbing - WHYYYYY?
reply

To be honest. I do not understand why people judge him based on his tattoos to me he looks like a very loving dad and partner.
reply

I do love tattoos however I ask both my boys not to get tattoos till after they were 18. Should never be an impulsive thing
reply

Aside from doing it for his daughter, he needs to speak to a therapist to understand why he went that route initially.
reply
