Men used to troll me for my weight - brand new me

CARLA, 23, from Melbourne, Australia lost 90lbs in one year after a health scare made her reassess her relationship with food. She told Truly: I couldn't control myself. I would be eating way too much, I turned to food as a comfort. At 16 years old she lost 55lbs but not in the healthiest of ways, I was incredibly insecure and I went into the weight loss journey for the wrong reasons, Carla said. It turned into an eating disorder and then I started putting on the weight after. Then, in 2020 she went in and out of the hospital suffering from Ulcerative Colitis. On one of her visits she was laying in bed all night saying I need to make this change, I don't want to live like this forever and that was my big turning point. She deleted her fast food apps and began home workouts. At her heaviest, Carla weighed 230lbs and is now 140lbs. Despite the self-acceptance she has found, Carla has still faced prejudice from men about her transformation. The majority of really rude comments I get are from men, she explained. Men used to say that I would look prettier if I lost weight. In the video, Carla speaks to one of her best friends about the trolling she's received online from men about her appearance

CHANGING THE MINDSET TIP: Changing the terminology we use helps build the right mindset. We are never losing weight because our brain thinks lack automatically and we want to feel in control. To gain control use the words -release weight- which tells your mind I am in control and I don-t need to gain the weight back. It-s the same principle when we lose money, we feel the need to run and gain it back because we feel a loss of control. I don-t even say the word diet at all because once again your brain hears -I am lacking. - Hope this tip helps everyone on their journeys.
My highest weight was 289 and I-m down to 214 as of today. I still have 64 to go.
Congratulations on your success and good luck on your journey to build muscle.

This is true women empowerment -! I started my weight loss journey fit health reasons back in my undergrad but then during my medical school due to over stresses study schedule I would eat four as reward and comfort food especially ice cream or chocolate to motivate me to study but I knew it was bad so I did incorporate cardio work out and walking or light running. However, it just kept me from avoiding to become obese but not fit! Now I try to stay more mindful on what I eat s as me how much I consume in the day with time cheat days and thank God that helps me to stay fit!

See this is the problem, people allow these trolls to dictate how one should feel about themselves. First and foremost if you don't add value to a person's life your opinion is invalid. Secondly many of men and women are running to surgery risking more problems to meet the standard of this cruel world. I wonder as a fluffy myself do these individuals really feel good or is it a facade. The things you felt about yourself doesn't go away once surgery has been completed

Any man who puts that much effort into being mean and hateful, and places stock in how you look, doesnt deserve you or any woman.
I'm 6 weeks into my weight loss journey after a couple of accidents which broke bones and tore tissue, muscle and ligaments. I piled on weight, im still not completely healed my left arm is still pretty weak and painful and probably always will be. But now I feel mentally ready after 4 years to shift it.

Congratulations on her weight loss but the title is ridiculous I'm sorry. I doubt that it was just men who made fun of her weight. Women are just as bad when it comes to making fun of people's appearance. In fact, they are probably worse than men, as they tend to be more shallow. She probably got hurt badly by a man and that's where this title has come from. Anyway, congrats to her

When I was young I weighed 243 lbs. diet and hitting the gym and lots of dancing in heels. after weight loss, build muscle in legs. went to 102 pounds size 2. What is worse when other women say unkind remarks to you, then after weight loss, all of a sudden they want to be your besti-. I don-t think so! Congratulations to you, hard work, I know, but so rewarding!

Same thing happened to me. Most guys weren't interested in me in high school. I don't blame them, though. I was a plain Jane. I never did my hair or put on makeup. I looked overweight. Now I notice people from high school, especially the guys that didn't know I existed, do look my way and now most of them are overweight. -

Thank you for sharing Carla's story. It's inspiring.
Being obese can make a person be invisible but it can also make a person be targeted by bullies. It doesn't matter what age or gender the obese person is. Certain people just enjoy bullying and discriminating others based on their size and weight. ---

Women like you treat me like garbage because i am slim all my life. I get such hatred and bullying so for over weigh women - i hope you will all mind your business. Because as slim athletic and tall woman I dont owe you anything so you all play the victim card and u r bad energy

It's a fact that the majority of obese people that got fit are way happier.
Fat people can't accept that because they don't want to put the work and fight their food addiction. It's easier to say body positivity and live a bad quality of life.

I want to lose weight but the excercises have irritated my sciatic nerve. I am worried that I will lay on bed again when I do 2 hours excercises a day. You lose weight for yourself that is nothing to do to those nasty men.

Im sorry, but im saying: Fat Excess Hides the Beauty, Shes absolutly Beautiful.

-the majority of mean comments were from men- - yeah because men tell you like it is instead of lying to you (like most women) by saying -you so pretty! -, -you're perfect- and -slayyyy. -
reply

These people are insecure and think the only way they can match up to her is by putting her down so she doesn-t understand that they have nothing to contribute with ) been there
reply

What pisses me off with men is the delusion. They think that they are so nice and don't demand much. Men are very superficial and mean if they are not interested in you.
reply

If she despises those men that did not want to date her when, and because she was fat, I assume she is dating morbidly obese men herself now?
reply

I-ve watched a few of these now- why are Australians using imperial measurements now - pounds instead of kgs?
We use kgs in Australia

reply

I really just want to lose my stomach fat. I look 6 months pregnant. I want it gone because it could really affect my dating life.
