I'm slightly darker than the lady in this video but my daughter is white, blond and blue-eyed. When she was about 4 or 5 we were at the mall and some security guard was keeping an eye on us and for a while following us. It was really creepy. Until my daughter for some random reason said: -Mama, .- And that's when he backed off. It was the most unsettling experience in the mall. I carried her in my belly for 9 months, had to have 2 surgeries to get her to begin with and then they act that way, because I'm dark-skinned and she's white? If it had been the other way around, they wouldn't have bothered because then they would have assumed that I had adopted some poor African child. And then they claim there is no racist bias? I live in Europe as the daughter of a white European and an Afro-Latina. My last name is considered normal, my first name anything but. My other two daughters were born with brown eyes, brown hair an a slightly darker skin. Nobody says anything about them. But some people even asked me whether they (the oldest and the twins) had the same father. Just because my eldest is white, blond and blue.

It-s sad that people so often project their worst selves in comment sections. That people think their biology 101 understanding of genetics is sufficient to invalidate a mothers relationship to her own child is absolutely wild and awful. Genetics is obviously not a simple thing, and that is typically made clear in the average bio 101 class too. So for those commenters to act like it-s so clear and straightforward just shows how much they were skirting that subject so they could vent their own bias and upset.
Im glad that in this case the family was able to see that rather than take those comments on. This is a beautiful, close family and I-m glad they saw through those commenters in the end -

My children were biracial and looked stereotypically mixed. My grandchildren are every shade from deep brown with African features to Nordic blonde and blue eyes. My son-s first wife was also biracial so my granddaughter is biracial WITHOUT a BLACK or WHITE parent which confuses some people. They want to say she-s 1/4 black instead of recognizing 1/2 + 1/2 = 2/4 or 1/2 in the whole DNA situation. And she-s so beautiful; she-s an international model! Brooklyn is adorable! From profile, she has her aunt-s nose! And why can-t dad have a child who looks like him? It-s a crazy world of societal designated racial identities!

This is literally my life, but in reverse. I am mixed (white and black, my father is black and my mother is white. Growing up, people never believed that I was her biological daughter. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with adoption, it still hurt me a little that people would never even consider the possibility that my father could be black. Plus, people always glossed over many defining characteristics that I share with my mother, like our smiles, just because of the difference in skin color and hair texture between us.

What a gorgeous family! I can totally see Mom in that face! Babies change sooooo very much, and even if she grew up to look exactly like she does now- it shouldn't matter. Chances are she will change though and I wouldn't be surprised if the day comes where she looks a whole lot like mom! That's what's so wild about the negative comments, particularly how -hurt- some claim they would be if their baby -didn't look like them. - Why would you be hurt? Why would you take offense to that? It makes no sense to me.

People are very ignorant. Realistically, if you look at her family, the mom is the darkest one of the bunch. Once I saw Grandma, I definitely saw the color in the baby. Regardless, they are a beautiful family. My baby is mixed, and for a while, he looked nothing like me. He looked like his dad's father. I-m black, and daddy is Spanish. That boy is SO PROUD TO BE MIXED. He said he wants to be the first Jamaican Ecuadorian President. Man, he-s so happy he's American, Caribbean, and Ecuadorian.

This proves that genetics aren-t simply taking 50% from both parents and being an equal mix of that, and that people are their dominant gene, not all of the genes that exist within them including the un-expressed and dormant ones. And it also proves how weak the black genes are, because most mixed kids look much more like their white or Asian parent than their black parent. These people have a beautiful family and wish them all the best!

I know the feeling she going through. My child is Puerto Rican, which she lughter than me as I'm brown skin. Everywhere I would go would as me if she my child or if people knew me, they will ask who child did you rob. It does gets frustrating at time. Just because your child doesn't have the same skin color as you dont mean that child, not yours biologically. People will always talk, and I have learned not to care.

Knew a couple with dark brown hair and eyes. One kid turned out red hair and blue eyes, the other brown hair and brown eyes. Each of the parents have one parent with reddish brown hair and blue eyes, and one parent with dark brown hair and eyes. They also encounter people asking if they're just babysitting someone else's kid. Also the mom in this video looks like she's mixed. I am quite sure she has some degree of European ancestry.

People don-t get it. I am a black woman with a blue eye daughter. All of my biracial children are completely different, some with blue eyes and others with brown eyes. But all are the same skin tone as Brooklyn. And my grandchildren are blond hair with blue eyes. People just don-t understand genetics. Y-all just be happy and ignore them. -

I work in a daycare and a lot of my babies are mixed. I've learned that there's no real rhyme or reason to what racial traits a kid does/doesn't pick up. I can't fathom questioning a child's parentage. That baby is very clearly the child of this couple. She has dad's eyes and coloring, and mom's nose and face shape.

I'm mostly Guatemalan but I have Chinese in me too. I've been asked often if I'm Filipina. I look both I think. Hispanic with some Asian. It's cool.
And that baby is sooo cute and beautiful! Gorgeous. I love babies.
Remember no matter what anyone says, you have a lovely life.

She is very obviously mixed race! Dad could be holding her alone in a store, and I'd still know her mother is a black woman! There is not just one shade of black and being lighter skin doesn't take her blackness away from her. Shame on anyone trying to deny that baby's identity!

I went to school with people that were mixed. I worked with people that were mixed, and sometimes the white part is more dominant looking then whatever other nationality it is. People need to mind their own business. It-s a happy family that-s all that matters. -

Just post the birth video thats going to shut them up. --- WHY should it even matter?
As long as kids have loving parents, why do they HAVE to look like mom and dad?
Interesting subject matter, just shows some people have have far too much free time.

I-ve seen this happen before to people I know.
I knew this very Asian woman who married a white man and a child, came out with blonde hair and blue eyes and looked just like a Caucasian kid. DNA always works in mysterious ways. Lol

She is a beautiful, healthy baby. Can-t we just appreciate the fact that she has two loving parents in a world of craziness. I-m not even biracial, just light-skinned, and I-ve dealt with this kind of thing. It-s messed up.

I think there are a special breed of people that I've never met, those who peg their existence on the views of others.
I hope my children never bring such nonsense to me as there are bigger problems in the world.

Isn't it awful, that in this day and age, this rubbish still goes on. You can see even in her own family, they are all different shades. I think she's very like her grandma too. What a little cutie.

my final thoughts are that nothing is linear when it comes to genetics some will take after mom or dad in their case its not uncommon for anybody from two backrounds to look pink over brown.

They're basically being racist towards a baby. and people say black people (or people of other races other than white) can't be racist?
