What's the difference between 'too' and 'as well'? That's what Ruben would like to know, and Dan has the answer! John: Yes. too is a synonym for also. Most Americans are now trying to sound more intelligent (but failing! :) ) by saying, as well when they mean also or too. These Americans are overcorrecting, the way they wrongly avoid me, as in Want to go to the mall with Mom and I? ugh. It's atrocious. Or , Just between you and I... ACK! Me is sometimes correct, because it's the objective case pronoun. Overcorrecting makes language sound stilted and insincere. As well as a constant sub for too is an ugly , trendy, brainless and copycat overcorrection that weakens narrative. AVOID IT. You can learn English too, along with your friends and me.

Well, I have a question about the word rather. Example, If I say, I am rather happy. Is rather more than very, less than very, or is it the same as very?

The fridge is empty, I might as well go to the supermarket.
It's just as well you got home, we can go together to the supermarket.
