A Buddhist temple in the city provides a spiritual oasis from the shopping malls around it. ryo0ka: The responsibility of China on the global warming aside, it's certainly unfair that the Western world has gotten away with the same or even more of what Chine is currently criticized to be doing now. Same applies to any other developing countries. If you were born in China and aiming to enrich your country's wealth and production in competition with the Western world, what could that notion of environmental conservation be perceived?

China has been a major part of the world's economy for thousands of years, but times have changed. It would seem as if production of material goods has reached a boiling point and may soon bubble over. If we do not find a way to live as one with nature in the modern world than nature will never bless us with the life that it gives.

China and India are causing pollution because developing nations are exporting their manufacturing units to less developed nations, so that they can buy more goods without destroying their surrounding, but unfortunately, no one can control air.

My ex girlfriend was from that city, her desire to have all the new flashy things were insatiable, while me living neat the equator (southeast Asia) with less material want makes her feels like I'm an Armish man. Were have parted ways

Nice one again on the BBC blaming China for the worlds pollution without taking into account that the reason those emissions are so high is because us westerners love to buy their goods and consume stuff ourselves.

Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism are South Asian cultures which has spread towards East Asia, these are the oldest religions of the world, should be preserved, practiced to eternity.
reply

Oh no. The West again thinks the East cannot do Materialism and it must be spiritual to keep the east apart and distinct from the West so that it will never be equal with te West.

China is fast. The speed of their transformation is impressive.
Let's see if they can do the same thing in Africa, as they seem to try with their infrastructure deals.

When the word Pollution was mentioned. Don't use the footage of Burning incense stick, how much of smoke can incenses from an altar produce?
reply

Forget politics for a moment. The Chinese are wonderful people with a long history of tradition and irreplacable culture.
