Those glaciers and the kelp beds are literally nowhere near each other. Two differ t areas spliced together unrealistically. Theres tons of otters on the outer coast of BC and Vancouver Island and theres huge waves there so this whole deal that otters cant handle waves is just a bunch of false storytelling to add drama. They dont go to kelp to seek shelter, they wrap themselves in it while they sleep so the tidal currents dont take them along.
