they poop a lot, release a lot of ammonia, they suck in flakes too efficiently for other tank mates to compete. They grow fast. Advice: do not mix with other fish (other than a gulper catfish)

Please, please, please do not ever keep goldfish in bowls. Nearly all of them get to be 6 to 8 inches or more, and need large, spacious aquariums with filtration or outdoor ponds.

Goldfish are dirty fish and need 20 gallons per fish. Quit showing them in tiny bowls because that's how so many are killed. Also they are invasive species to local ecosystems.
