John Lennon: Genius Or Bastard? Full Biography (All You Need Is Love, Imagine) My family spent 1964 in Paris, for my Dads work. My mom and sis and I went over to London, one of the main things we all wanted to do was see A Hard Days Night. So we went to the theater, we thought it would be packed. But we were the only ones there. We all loved the movie, of course. Walking around London we saw a picture of the Stones taped up inside the window of a shop. I was floored! They looked like five white monkeys! Id never seen anything like it before. That was in 1964 and I was 17. Now Im 76 and still a Stones fan.\r\n

your video was dismisive of paul, as they said, he took over, and without his work rate we wouldant have all them last albums, they were after all pauls consept albums + i started a beatles copy band on bass age12 in 1976 with twisted hands that didant really open, so mad on them i put enough work in to open them, the beatles saved my hands. and now, 4 generations of singer song writers alive in my family, national champion daughter ect. someone should make a doc, about what the beatles dream did for some of us YNWA

Imagine really sounds like the Beatles not just solo I guess that's how much John's song writing impacted the band for my money let it be is my favorite and in my opinion best Beatles songs just because it always gives me that feeling that only great music gives you obviously its not the general Beatles fans favorite it was one of the lower selling Beatles album only 8 million in the 60s lol was still huge but not like the others I personally love it considere it one of the best ballads of all times

In many ways I can identify with John Lennon, probably many people do as well. But such enormous creativity always surrounded him with fans, friends and attention. A genious for sure, sadly enough it must have been his relative recklessness and fame creating jealousness that led to his assassination. Thanks to the US first amendment. Self defense is a good right. But the right to arbitrarily carry deadly weapons should be prohibited.

Brian didn-t hear the Beatles on Please Please Me, but a recording called My Bonney. Epstein got them the contract with EMI that led to their first UK album. BTW one doesn-t become addicted to LSD. One can binge on it for a year but any so-called addiction is comparable to an addiction to chocolate. There are no rehab clinics for LSD addicts. Alcohol and nicotine, in comparison, are addictive and toxic.

At first glance, a good effort, but a lot of problems. Everything but NOT study? Didnt you mean he did everything BUT study? There is no such word as Angelican - its Anglican. Good try, but your lack of meaning and knowledge of pronunciation hurts this video, leading viewers not to take you seriously. OK - HOT Ashbury? You are intentionally screwing this up. Nobody could make THAT many mistakes.

Please get better or hire a better script writer, a lot of this just sounds ether like reading a Wikipedia article or spouting opinions, -society was looking for ways to end the conflict. - You shouldn-t use such broad terms like -society- like which society? What part of society? It makes it sound like a year 11 history essay. Also a few mispronunciations such as with Anglican.

Abandoned child, deprived of love? Are you serious? His father left him when he was 5 just like John left his own son. But his mother was always in his life and they were very close. After John's father left, Julia was unable to provide properly for him so John lived with his Aunt Mimi and Uncle George. He had a good home and was surrounded by family including his mother.

again the binary response or genious or bastard. simplification is the mother of extremes. he probably was a bastard with julian his 1st son and a good father with his second and a music genius all at the same time. this question is a sample of one of the big problems of this era. there is not simple responses for the complexity of the human being

8: 24 We don't mind you Americans simplifying our language, but when it's glaringly obvious that you're struggling a little correction is in order, I think.
The 'Garden FET' you speak of is pronounced fate. It's a kind of outdoor gathering of stalls and attractions, usually to raise money for local causes.
I hope you don't mind my comment.

I think God played all the instruments and wrote all the songs in the Beatles song book. Ya see, it was all created for all of us moving forward in order to bring us peace in a mad hatter world - the finger of God or evil is always the author. Whether it's evil minds that plot destruction or -All we Need is LoVE -

How the hell did you let that obvious fake -wedding- picture of John and Cynthia into this documentary? It undermines the credibility of the entire documentary. Even the most casual Beatle fan can see that that is not Cynthia and John would certainly not have worn those clothes.

American Greed from a greedy bastard. he gets no praise from most only contempt. to say his contribution was positive is. B. S. if the outcome was it all crumbled because of his intervention. You cant praise this man, his past has to be considered like a criminal with a a shady past
reply

Flawed man, flawless musician.
Who knows how he would-ve approached his past mistakes later in life. All we have to go by is the facts, the fact is he was no saint. That being said any chance of redemption was stripped away from him and that-s wrong.

reply

-I'm a loser -. It sticks to the sticking place as no one else would have to guts to stand up and sing that, let alone record it.
I guess at least -jealous guys- care enough to show they care. I think I like this song as its bold.

I watched the bedroom scene and I used to feel for his first wife, but now I think he did his high school sweetheart wife a favor.
I don't know music but I can tell that John Lennon is creative and totally awesome musician.

reply

I cannot fathom why John ignored and disinherited his first son Julian. John knew what being abandoned as a child did to him, so why not treat his first born better? He also financially shafted his first wife Cynthia.
reply

Rubbish, once more we are given the polished truth.
Lennon was a Bastard, but they don't explore that here, it's fascinating how such a flawed individual tells his own truth.
This is such a sad fail.

reply

Just the title doesn-t even validate watching this crap. Lennon had a father and mother who both fought over him when he was 4 years old. Not worth watching your garbage. John would say F. Off
reply

My famous photographer friend humbly and kindly approached John just to say hello as Lennon was loading up his car. Lennon flipped him off and spewed nastiness and profanities. Yoko said nothing.
reply

You might as well title this video, Salt or Purple. That's makes a much sense as your title makes. Why bother with the contents, if the same -brilliance- produced both the video and it's title?
reply

So very wrong of John Lennon to not do right with Julian and spend time with him. how painful for a child, they deserve Love! he should have known better because of his own father.

At 4: 00: -John was brought up as an -an-jell-ikan--!
You-re reading words without knowing what they mean. Find someone who can explain Anglicanism to you.

21: 18 _-A Spanish in the Works-_
What the?
It's A Spaniard in the Works. Sheesh.
p. s. 40: 10 It's not -Primary Therapy- - it's Primal Therapy.

In those days you HAD to get married if the girl was pregnant. Unlike today, it was seen as disgrace to be pregnant and unmarried.
reply

If you think the Beatles recorded their first album BEFORE Epstein became their manager, you clearly know nothing about the group!
reply

The words genius and madness have long gone hand in hand. The words genius and bastard go hand in hand too. Look at lennon.
reply

Who put this together? Obviously don't know that Brian Epstein met them before their first album was even recorded.
reply

John didnt seem all that abandoned but he did abandon Julian. He walked out, never looking back nor caring. What a scum bag.
reply

Over the years, I-ve learned I can love music and neither know nor care about the musicians and their personal lives.
