The Difficult Fate Of Marlon Brando - Full Biography (The Godfather, Last Tango in Paris, The Chase) Can you do year by year biographies on actors Tough Guy American patriotic Republican conservative Robert Conrad who from what I have studied has a super interesting life. For example - Beating up muggers who tried to rape lady. He swam under water in a milk truck tank for lung build up during his time doing Blacksheep TV show. He boxed in the ring from age 6 until age 56. He was many, many fights, winning nearly all of them. He was 15 when he lied about his age to join the marines. He was kicked out when they found out his real age. He was discovered as a James Dean look alike and Nick Adams took him to Hollywood to get him into show biz. He tried to get boxing matches with Sylvester Stallone and Mickey Rourke. Both turned him down out of fear of being knocked out because they knew that he was a legitimate boxer with a great knock out record who had zero fear of others and absolutely loved boxing anyone who was willing. He even spared with heavyweight boxing champion Joe Frazer on the Mike Douglas show, He was Mr. Macho and arm wrestled a arm wrestling woman champion where he was defeated. He loved competition and accepted it when he lost. He would be a VERY interesting life to research and do a bio on.
Also, could you do a bio on the late great actor David Janssen who was also very interesting. He may have lived only nearly 49 years but he was very filled up with an interesting life. His vices of drinking, cig smoking and jumping from woman to woman may have wore him out to die young but he was a fantastic personality to follow.
Thank you if you are willing and able to do a doc on these two guys.\r\n

To frame the Godfather as a metaphor for 'capitalism' in America is misguided. Even if Coppola himself framed it that way. It's more like a metaphor for 'corruption' in America. And Socialism or Communism is not the antidote to corruption. As a matter of fact, it is the ultimate corruption. The corruption of 'crony' or 'stakeholder' capitalism is in no way related to the 'free-market'. The free-market when it works correctly (not by government picking winners and losers, is the only 'antidote' to lifting societies and civilizations out of poverty. And also realizing that 'perfect' or 'Utopia' is impossible, that which universal law will never allow can ever be attained. And the more you try to do so, the more fascist and authoritarian a society becomes. We can only improve by accepting these realities to which Communism ignores. By ridding of 'Capitalism', or the free-market, you will never rid of man's greed. It finds it's way through no matter what. And a Communist or centralized government will only make matters worse. This is why the best system ever created known to man is America's constitutional republic along with the free-market. Nothing is perfect, but no one else has a 'fire-wall' quiet like America's. And in these times that is being tested more than it ever has.

I have not watched all Marlon Brandon movies but quite a few. Not just the obvious choices like The Godfather, On the Waterfront, A Streetcar Named Desire and One-Eyed Jacks but some of the others. So far. Marlon Brandon hasn't been bad in any of them. I can't say all the movies as a whole has been great but always interesting to see Marlon Brando. I will continue my search for the others.

Look, I am a big Brando fan. But his rejection of that Oscar ceremony was pure hypocrisy. He did not say anything about people being free. His gripe was at the caricatures Hollywood made of it's Indian characters.
Check out his movie -The Teahouse of the August Moon. - Look at the character he plays. Sending that girl up to take his Oscar in 71 was nothing but virtue signalling.

Brando is a great and interesting subject, and this is a good, comprehensive look at his life and career. So, it's surprising that the narrator's mispronunciations of virtually every foreign name (aside from the hispanic ones) were not caught and corrected. I mean, how can you possibly get Blanch DuBois and Steven Speilberg's name wrong?
reply

He was against America in Vietnam. He politician Bobby Kennedy and actor Robert Vaughn were a political triumvirate on that subject. See below.
Ho Chi Minh brutally slaughtered landlords in North Vietnam in the 1950's. Ken Burns himself recently showed this of Ho.

Marlon Brandon my favorite actor of all time-. his personality was cool. He didn-t want be more special than anybody and neither make anybody special for any reason. He wants to be himself and let others be themselves. That-s what life is all about. Isn-t it?
reply

I enjoyed this biography BUT you mispronounced practically everyone referenced, many very famous people i. e. Olivier. You are not alone in these errors, many of these documentaries have similar mispronunciations in them which I find odd.

Brando's sisters were beautiful! Brando always looked like an overweight bad little boy looking for trouble. I never liked him very much. I can't see what all of the fuss is about. I thought there were many actors better than Brando.

Brando's portrayal of Fletcher Christian in MUTINY ONTHE BOUNTY was far closer to the fopish Christian than Clark Gable's he-man portrayal in the 1930s. Brando never got enough credit for it.

Everyone has their take on this guy, he was basically a tortured undisciplined and ultra narcissistic man who was an above average actor at best. People glorify him Elvis etc. I don-t get it?

I recommend everyone see the documentary -Listen to me Marlon- throughout his life, he recorded himself talking so the entire thing is from his point of you. It-s a great documentary.

I don't think you should be considered adequately knowledgeable to be doing a bio on Marlon Brando when you can't tell the difference between Tallulah Bankhead and Betty Garrett.
reply

It-s difficult to focus in the autobiographical information when I keep being jolted by the truly awful narration, in particular, the atrocious mispronunciations. It-s painful!
reply

I've never watched a video where the narrator mispronounced so many names. And I'm surprised that many of not all of those names were or should be known to the narrator.
reply

This seems to be an advanced VO bot. It has programming to pick emotional variations but EVERY bloody name is mispronounced. The breathings are bizarre too.

some serious help in Pronouncing The Names of Actors, Directors, and Producers!

So funny when you hear millennials and zoomers pronouncing names they've only read like -Coppola- and -Olivier. - Otherwise, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

9: 10 - MISPRONUNCIATION - Antigone is pronounced an-ti-guh-nee. I really enjoyed the biography though. It's just a pretty famous play and character.
reply

Oh! It is a robot narraration? That makes sense. It mispronounces so many words. I hate the way it keeps referring to Marlon Brando as 'The guy. -

John Husston? John Houston? You can't pronounce Houston? What do YOU know about movies? Sounds like you kinda skim through others work.

I love all of Brando-s sixties movies. Despite all of the box failures I find each one of them is a masterpiece of acting.
reply

Many people think of Brando as outstanding? Brando is universally regarded as the best actor who ever lived, dummy!

If you are going to do a biography please learn to pronounce the last names of the people you're talking about!
reply

I have always thought Brando was an exceptional actor-I have always loved every character he ever played!

Frank Sinatra was jealous of Marlon Brando, if, for no other reason, Brando outlooked Sinatra by far.
