You ever just have a presentation in chemestry class that lasts for 10 minutes and then you find yourself going on a tanjent about how the fuel in the SR-71 and A-12 were so rediculusly complicated that they were used as a coolent for the entire aircraft and that they required a super hot charge to even be ignited and how the lead engine design director threw a match into a vial of the fuel in front of the head of the CIA who thought he was about to die but the fuel was so heat resistant that it didnt even ignite?
Please send help.

A common misconception is that a pH of 7 means a solution is neutral. This is just wrong, what makes a solution neutral is whether [H3O+] = [OH-].
For example, Kc of water at a temperature of 25 degrees is 10--14, in which case [H3O+] would be 10--7 and the pH would be 7.
But in a temperature of 50 degrees Kc increases to 5. 476x10--14, and [H3O+] would be -6. 63.
However, since [H3O+] = [OH-], it doesn't matter it is neutral.

Hi Hank or anyone actually. I was wandering. we had a this exercise where we should dilute a solution with pH=8 so it has pH=4. So the answer is you have to dilute it 10000x. Can you dilute a base so much that it becomes an acid? Because I feel like it just doesn-t make sense and there is a lot of these similar question. Thanks for help!

The p stands for potential and the H is for Hydrogen. pH definition = the potential for hydrogen ion activity. Not my words. Professor Radar - Howard Community College in Columbia, Md. Just learned it today!

Wow, this is very clear, thank you so much!
The only problem I had was that he speaks really fast, so it's a bit hard to understand for me, but it's probably because I am French -
