On today's episode of Crash Course Anatomy & Physiology, Hank continues our exploration of tissues, with an introduction to your connective tissues. Pssst. we made flashcards to help you review the content in this episode! Find them on the free Crash Course App! Athan: Fun fact: a very similar genetic connective tissue disorder to Marfan Syndrome is call Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and it has many different types with the vascular form being potentially deadly as it causes weak connective tissue in vascular tissues which can cause your veins, arteries, etc to be weak (could be misremembering a few details as it's been a while since I read about it when I was diagnosed with hyper mobile EDS. One contrast between the two (if I remember correctly) is that where Marfan Syndrome has to do with elastin, EDS has to do with collagen.
I'm not by any means a medical professional. If you are really interested in these two syndromes, I highly suggested reading about them over taking my word for it as I didn't fact check this before posting it cuz I just remembered it from several years ago.

Idk what it is with crashcourse, their vids are trash and overcrowded with unnecessary material and jokes, but I keep on giving them -Second chances- before I start studying for a chapter properly

Thank you so much for mentioning those amazing musicians, as a med student and amateur pianist, hearing Rachmaninoff, Johnson and Paganini in a medicine video brought me a huge smile.

I am so happy Marfan syndrome is getting some recognition. My mom was not diagnosed with it until she was 18 and my grandpa was not diagnosed till 45. It's crazy.
