As we approach the end of Crash Course Astronomy, it-s time now to acknowledge that our Universe-s days are numbered. Stars will die out after a few trillion years, protons will decay and matter will dissolve after a thousand trillion trillion trillion years, black holes will evaporate after 10-92 years, and then all will be dark. But there is still hope that a new Universe will be born from it. Crash Course Astronomy Poster

Interesting idea: Natural selection (biology) applies to the multiverse
If the laws of science change each time a new universe is created, that means that some will be less suitable for life, and some will be way more suitable than our own universe.
If that is the case, biology within these universes may not be restricted by the immense scales of distance, time, and speed that we are. In universes where life has a greater ability to interact and develop, science might discover a way to influence the creation of new universes (assuming new universes are created through natural events within the parent universe.
Universes with the circumstances for advanced life to develop will be more likely to reproduce.
Further, the reason for biology within the universe might be far more significant than just what occurs on earth, potentially being part of a larger function within the multiverse that we will never be able to comprehend.

I will die one day, everyone I know will die one day but I'm fine with that, it doesn't bother me but the fact that one day our Earth, our Galaxy, our WHOLE UNIVERSE will die and there will be no humans, no birds, no animals, no life, no nothing. it hurts, it really hurts. I hope life goes on even when I can't see it, even if my dead body is decomposed and there is nothing left of me, no one will know I existed but still i want them to exist, I want the life to continue, it makes me feel happy and at peace for some reasons.

I say, since the time is relative, the Universe is relatively old as per the point of space and time we are referencing from. It could be x billion years old in the hypervolume of space and time where the earth is located, but it could y years old (where x is not necessarily equal to y) when measured in that of Jupiter or Sirius or other places.

Watched the opening, want to make a comment before seing/hearing the rest. the vid is gonna talk about time along the terms of fissionable matterial recollecting heavier matter (on the atomic scale) becomes more common. all life we know involves the first 20ish elements and we're talking on a scale those no longer exist.

Without spirituality, without a God, without an afterlife, Materialists have NOTHING to hope for, NOTHING to live for. For them, death by cessation of Consciousness is depressing for them as it is. I mean, they don't even believe in free will. Ah well, I know where I'm going after my body dies. :)

Dark matter and energy? Will they decay too after time? I suppose you can-t tell. But that-s also why these gloomy predictions of extinction are very unreliable, there are factors we don-t comprehend.

Although this is not quite as depressing as government corruption or military industrial complex, this is REALLY depressing. I should get over it one day, hopefully.

Proton decay is unsupported by evidence, we don-t know yet if they do. That-s like saying bc an Einstein rose bridge exists in the math then it does in real life like what

If we survive until the heat death of the universe, we-ll be so technologically advanced that we-ll probably just create a new universe. With black jack and hookers.

Could 2 neutron stars going supernova be enough to form a star or a few? Every trillion years a hand full of new solar systems could come about. Could be neat: )
