Is Immigration good or bad? Immigration is a touchy subject in the United States. The 2016 election has been filled with debate about the subject, and both proponents and opponents have lots of reasons for their stance. But, this is a show about economics, and when it comes to the effects of immigration on economies, there is actually a lot of consensus. It turns out, immigration is economically beneficial

4: 20 I can't agree to this theory. Pracitcal the effect on wages is the opposit.
Two examples.
#1 Turkey
Withing short time due to Syria War and other migration movements from Irak and Afghanistan Turkey hosted between 4 to 5 Million refugees.
The big food industry in turkey was booming, the production rose.
But in same time the food industry which needs unskilled workers highered refugees for ilegally jobs for very low wages and firing the domestic workers.
The rents and real estate prices sky rocketed.
The municipallities didnt had enough money for public issues due to the high costs of caring for refugees.
In short:
Rising unemployment.
Rising rents.
Rising public outcomes.
Sinking wages.
But this situation is to consider in refugee crisis and not to free chosen migration by finding own jobs or making their own business
#2 Germany
The government try to keep wages low to look more attractive for investments. Till 2017 there where allmost no rising for the past 15 years.
Even there are still unemployed or insted of training the domestic human resources, they are forcing the imigration for professions like IT or health to keep the wages low.
So the complete opposit which is explained here.
The contribution of imigrants on a economy depends on much more facts:
-a allready strong economy with a good mix of developed industry and services
-ease of doing business
-the need of labor forces (which needs a economy which is strong and still growing)
-easy access to education
-low bureaucracy
-a controlled imigration an borders
-low free social benefits by government
-private insurances
-a understanding of value of the society and community
-a open society which is helping for integration with as less racism as possible
The mix of strong economy with high social benefits attraced especially unskilled and uneducated imigrants which don't care much for anything. Fo example Germany where in the same time a strong systematical racism is part of the culture which blocks the children of access to education and skilled jobs.
So, your explenation actualky fits only for the U. S.

The whole lie about immigration being good for the economy comes from the fact that government benefits are not subtracted from the so called growth in GDP these people bring to the country. Extract the welfare, medicare, medicaid, school expenses, justice system expenses from the overall economic growth (GDP) and you have negative economic impacts. Since the govt just prints money they don't have to pay for these benefits and the debt just keeps climbing destroying the future of the younger generation. If these immigrants are so good to economic growth then have them pay for the social safety net they receive in America and see how many come streaming to our shores. The fake money regime in America is nothing but wool being pulled over the eyes of those too uneducated to understand the truth.

I would recommend taking a look at some of Hayek-s studies on economics. Just because there-s a statistical correlation doesn-t mean that there is an actual correlation, and also using GDP as a measure of a countries well being is flawed because it doesn-t measure distribution of economic growth. It also can-t differentiate between positive and negative economic indicators. Example: Hurricanes, flooding, etc. The rebuilding process will reflect a positive growth of GDP even though the country will generally be left in a worse off state. See -The broken window- study. If we go around throwing rocks into windows, thus providing work for window repair companies, we will see a positive growth in GDP. However, it doesn-t account for the loss of the goods that were broken.

When employees compete for employment, wages drop.
When employers compete for employees, wages increase.
Immigration should be about population control and only about population control. The US population since 1940 has more than doubled, yet wages staggered behind inflation despite the exponential growth in GDP. Take a look at the worlds next largest economies, China and India and their population yet they also suffer abject poverty. Of course, all of this is mere correlation and speculation and I am by no means an economist. I can however, draw a line, and realize that the human population needs to be reduced by about 6 billion people world wide.

This is so factual wrong on so many points.
People need food and water. Every nation has a certain amount of arable land and seafood. When the demand is higher for food and water than their domestically is you become reliant on external excess food and water production.
If externally there aren't produced enough in excess to meet the domestic demands people die.
Every person and every organic life for that matter is a consumer. Having more consumers in a country leads to higher consumption of the finite natural ressources which can lead to higher demands and lower supply which can lead to poverty and death.

Hell yes, immigrants are the most productive members of society because they have nothing where they're going and so they always build anew, leading to more productivity. Of course they start from nothing and a new immigrant is worth less than someone who already lives there but they will obviously evolve because they're in a new, better environment, it's like people who don't like immigrants never been in a toxic environment in their goddamn lives and they think people are just the way they are and they can never grow, more than likely it's just looking out for yourself and nobody else which isn't how society thrives.

In economic terms, as well as pretty much every other aspect, the formula is pretty simple:
Legal immigration = good
Illegal immigration = bad
Also it is the important to point out that immigration was indeed pivotal when the United States was still a developing industrial power. But times change, and so do a nation's needs. Hence why there are laws and quotas. If the laws and quotas are followed, it benefits everyone. If left unrestricted, or laws are ignored or broken, the system suffers. There is an optimal range for everything, including wages, labor supply, and labor demand.

These studies operate under the assumption that non legal immigrants arent receiving and taxpayer funded benefits. Even though under the letter of the law, they are not supposed to receive Tanf, SNAP, Medical or Housing, in many instances they are recevied through their children, and many states like OR and CA are widely known to hand them out regardless.
Studies have shown more non legal citizens receive social welfare than citizens per capita.
This video also dosent mention remittances that are sent past the southern border and out of the economy every year.

Right so I as a worker. Dont care about the GDP, don-t care about productivity for my boss. Don-t care about immigrants better wage from whence they came. I care about MY wage, and the video confirms it will be bad for me an existing worker. But only -temporarily- well, two decades of suppressed wages is kind of not temporary. So this video confirms that immigration suppress wages.
But if you squint at it from a globalist perspective that cares about everybody else but the indigenous worker. It-s all rainbows.

Actually, the -Out of Africa- theory has been debunked since at least 2006 due to the fact that Europeans have 5% pure Neanderthal DNA which is equivalent to having a Neanderthal as a great grandfather which can-t be the result of admixture. This woman is just a leftist woman spreading misinformation and not realizing the bigger picture in how immigration is ultimately bad for countries because she-s only focused on national economies instead of people and cultures like the globalists do.
