Mike Rugnetta is going to tell you stories of death, destruction, divine judgment, damnation, and the occasional happy ending. That's right, this week we're talking about the Apocalypse. Actually we're talking about a bunch of ways the world could end. Prepare for stories of the end times from Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Islam! It's the (mostly) Abrahamic Apocalypses on Crash Course World Mythology. Crash Course is made with Adobe Creative Cloud. Get a free trial

The apocalypse of Revelations and the seven plagues seems similar to a theorized extinction event for humanity and the destruction of Earth. The liquids of the angels could be interpreted as meteors and asteroids, which could be the catalyst for extreme climate change and seismic activity. The first plague could also be interpreted as just a deadly epidemic In millions of years, our sun will grow into a red giant, hence it flaring up and burning everyone. The lakes and oceans, etc. will be filled with chemicals and substances, such as iron, which has the capability to make water red, hence the blood. The seismic activity and storms and all that could be attributed to pollution and climate change in the future. The kingdom being filled with darkness and the extreme pain to life forms, could be the result of volcanic activity, and immense air pollution, because the smoke and volcanic fallout could cover the atmosphere in darkness, and also cause acid rain which is toxic and can cause physical pain, similar to what happened to the dinosaurs. The Euphrates drying up could be a result of global warming. Just my interpretation from a scientific POV.

I get that you have time restraints. But when you went through the Christian section of this you only went through 1/3 of the story told in the book of Revelation. Also, you said that events described in the book of Zachariah are different than the events described in the book of Revelation. This may be true from the Hebrew perspective; however, the majority Christian perspective is that the two are one in the same.

there is some stuff you forgot in the Muslim part:
1 - an animal that speaks in human languish (i have no idea what that means) telling people wither they are good or bad
2 - after all the faithful are dead a hug smoke covers the sky and a giant fire appears in el yaman

I disagree with the initial quote, apocalypse if not due to failure of humanity, but about making the human kind accountable.
