The inclusion of 'Medusa's head was integral to the creation of one of the greatest items in the pantheon, the shield of Athena, the Ageus, and yes I'm aware that is likely incorrect in spelling. so it's association of protection is right there.

I would bet they believed the hag sat on your chest because of sleep paralysis. If you've never experienced it. YOu can't move and it is terrifying and often feels as if someone is sitting on your chest.

I wonder if the whole turning people into stone thing was cos catalepsy is a pretty easy hypnotic phenomenon in suggestible people (which they TOTALLY were back in those times of magic and stuff)

I feel there is soo much missing from this video. And blaming the tales of witches on misogyny seems ignorant or just any easy excuse to avoid a more difficult subject.
