And thats all if you do make one then make sure to add something thats important that I may or may not of missed stay cool deep look and thanks for always helping me sleep.

They are called boarding crabs or tenant crabs in Chinese, so I always knew they lived in someone elses shells. Common name of animals can sometimes be quite efficient in explaining their lifestyle or behaviour, if the people giving those names have been observing very carefully.

Wait. so this entire species are depended on another species? Like when did it adapt to use snail's shell from the start? Is it an evolutionary things? Why are their bottom part is squishy?

for the segment at the end, theres actually a lady who is successfully breeding land hermit crabs in captivity, so hopefully the hermit pet trade will start to see less and less wild hermits over the years

Im curious though, if you put them in a aquarium and they only had one snail in there too, would they really never kill that snail to get its shell, while shell-less or becoming too big for theirs?

Awwww I had hermit crabs as a kid maybe 5/6 of them. They were fun, Id watch them crawl around for hours, sometimes letting them walk up my arm. This brought back some really cool memories.

While I do agree with keeping hermit crabs as they are, are man-made shells harmful to hermit crabs if you want to give them more choices for protection?
