Another good video c/w simple explanation. As an engineer though I do tend to spot errors: for instance BTU/hr x 0. 000083 = RT you have made a typo showing BTU/hr as the same unit. Sorry but had to point it out or I would not have slept tonight: )

Very important to note that the tonnage leading to 3. 5kW is the cooling load, NOT input power. Input power of 1 tonne is approx 1kW ( depending on SEER of machine )

I find it curious that the ton, a measure of weight, is used in the Imperial calculations but kg, a measure of mass, is used in the metric calculation.

Hey, isn't 1 ton of refrigeration related to the heat of 1000 kg of ice? I studied it like that.
Or both 1000 kg and 907 kg are valid?
