I think it's the artificial gas that made them react that way. Other studies have been conducted where people did not sleep for long periods of time and they never reacted by ripping parts of their bodies off. Though I don't know how these subjects were able to survive for 15 days. I've heard of many people dying from heart attacks after going without sleep for days.

This is one of those Creepypastas that really grip me and keep me reading all the way to the end. only to disappoint me in the end. Seriously, this story really had me going right up until that corny speech from the test subject.
