The Enduring Mystery of Jack the Ripper Pertaining to the statement about the Ripper possibly being a woman at 43: 12, while there were men spotted with the victims and we truly have no way of telling whether or not they were the murderer, it leads me to believe that having the men escort the victims was all a rouse so a woman could commit such violent crimes behind the scenes. After all, it was proven by historians who studied this series of events that a lot of women at the time had the -anatomical knowledge- to commit the crimes. I came across an article written by Genevieve Carlton that was published to the All Thats Interesting website in April of 2021. It stated that -While the killer-s knife skills earned them the -Butcher- monicker, many 19th-century women had the anatomical knowledge to commit the crime. In particular, a midwife or an abortionist would have been able to surgically remove the uterus, as the Ripper did to some of their victims.
In this article it gives a bit of backstory about a woman possibly being behind the murders. Among the hundreds of men that were questioned, Mary Pearcey was a woman who was questioned by the police and seen as a possible suspect due to committing an -eerily similar slaying- during the -canonical- murders committed by the Ripper. She was living with a man after being kicked out of her home by her partner for several affairs at the same time the crimes by the Ripper were being committed. The man she was living with, Frank Hogg, got another woman pregnant because he was having an affair at the same time as Mary was while they were living together, and he vowed to marry the pregnant woman instead. Mary then lured the woman to tea on October 24th before killing her in a similar manner that Jack the Ripper killed their victims.
Accordingly, in May of 2006, an Australian scientist named Ian Findlay recovered some of the DNA from the saliva on the letters written by the Ripper and their envelopes. He declared that the Ripper could have been female, and he wasnt the first to say so either. In 1888, British Chief Inspector Frederick Abberline thought that the Ripper could have been a woman due to the witness statements made after Mary Kellys murder. Witnesses stated that they saw Kelly hours after the murder, which lead him to think that Kellys clothes could have been donated to help the murderer escape the crime scene. Though, of course, without any true evidence, this is all speculation.
We may never know who Jack the Ripper truly was and the Ripper being a woman is just a theory. However, its quite odd that all these things were happening around the same time. It leads me to believe that its possible it was a woman committing these crimes instead.

Apparently, the British Police have stored away related evidence regarding the Ripper murders from the investigations at the time. They say that they have genuine correspondence from the Ripper as what is written in the notes, only the Ripper would know. They say that they have hundreds of letters supposedly from Jack the Ripper obviously, most are fake but a couple that are regarded as genuine.
Do they have stamps on them? Maybe they could today examine these stamps and obtain DNA. The Ripper may or may not have licked the stamps.
If he did indeed licked the stamps, then maybe they could track future family members (if he had children) today and throw some light on who he was. Just something to think about. This would be the only way to identify him other than finding a confession.

All the people claiming the ripper HAS to be a doctor or a butcher due to anatomical knowledge, I find it just as likely the ripper could have been a coroner, or could have stolen bodies to examine. He doesn't NEED to be professionally trained if it's within the realm of possibility that he could be self-educated. That's not to say the ripper couldn't be a doctor or a butcher, but that it's silly to acknowledge his anatomical knowledge without also acknowledging he could have taught himself such skills, or could have learned similar skills through similar fields. Perhaps he was a coroner, a grave digger, a veterinarian. There are other means by which he could have come to be familiar with human anatomy.

All these -suspects- with elaborate theories as to why they committed the crimes are just ridiculous. Jack hated women, could come from abuse by his mother growing up and then maybe suffering a series of rejections along the way to just further the resentment. The mutilations were the highlight of the acts for him, not the killing; and he DEFINITELY lived in the immediate vicinity. He would've been unassuming, the type where friends of his would be utterly shocked to find out it was him; he wouldn't be some raving lunatic. Occam's Razor must be employed here.
Great job with this video; I've been following this story for years and you nail just about everything.

I think -Jack the ripper- was not a single person but multiple people portraying themselves as jack the ripper i think at best he did two murders after that the remaining were committed by different people so that the cops would be busy finding someone who was like the ripper so that they could escape silently. Also as its mentioned in the video London was the largest city back then millions were packed in a small area there were hundreds of thousands undocumented people it was easy to disappear like a grain in sand desert.

I've watched this video a few dozen times now. I've also watched one or two other videos pertaining to this. I personally get the feeling that the perp was in his mid-20s to mid-30's. He lived in White Chapel at the time, had cursory anatomical knowledge, and was physically capable. (Athletic) I have a suspicion that he actually was stalking the constable that was patrolling Mitre Square, and when the constable continued on--unaware the perp was behind him--the perp struck.

I feel such a deep melancholy for the victims who lost their lives, imagining the terror, agony, dread and despair they must have felt upon being faced with the fact that they were about to die, alone in a back alley in the night with no way to escape.
The music captures the infinitely heartbreaking nature of their last moments perfectly.

I know who Jack The Ripper was, I saw a docu-drama recently, it was called -A Study In Terror-. Turns out it was. No wait. No spoilers! It was kept from the police and public. because JTR died in a fire, and it would have caused problems. So it's solved, thanks to a little known PI called Mr. Holmes I think his name was.

Remember back in those days in night it was likely pitch black, could the guy who trimmed the leather on his boot, could he have sat there doing so and left, the entire time sat less than a metre away from a dead body? Cuz without a lantern or day time or on a lit street, it was very dark back then

I read a book called -Tuesday Blade-. It-s an amazing fictional sequel to jack the Ripper. It-s a granddaughter inherits the home of her grandfather and finds a case with five stray razors and each one has Monday, Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday on each razor. great fictional sequel to a true story.

Love the opening animation!
I wonder if there will be something today that'll be looked at 100 years time and hold the same fascination for people?
There's been much worse crimes committed since (maybe before) and yet people are still so weirdly fascinated about these cases.

Hmmm. its interesting a few of these women either had lodged at 44 Flower and Dean Street before, or, were denied entry on the night of their death. Im sure its been investigated before (and lodgings for poor women were few back in those days) but did anything come out of that?
reply

Bro imagine that the people from that time could see this video. I just wanna know the expression of the journalist that wrote -Jack the Ripper suspended his work for present, if not for good- just watching this segment and then it goes -Chapter 6: The work of the devil- haha
reply

there was no blood at any of the scenes, thats because all the slayings took place in a carriage, afterwards, the bodies were simply dumped on the street, and carefully arranged / displayed. So the perpetrator clearly had time, money and influence (contrary to msm BS.

I was interested that the first victim was assumed to be Tabram. Quite a few experts seem to think Nichols was the first. Older theories about the Ripper think an Emma Elizabeth Smith, killed before Tabram, was the first but more recently she has been discounted.
reply

Perhaps it was several men. Cross looked harmless so Def did the interrupted one, perhaps another, Kasminsky maybe a few, and the guy 'picking leather from his shoe' right at the murder site. Copycats of the first one. Burnett probably killed his wife at the end.
reply

I always thought this was an ABC murders kinda case. He only left a note at one of the bodies and then the next kill is his last one? (If I remember the order of these correctly. Even if I-m wrong about the order, I always got the ABC vibe.
reply

Do you think there is any chance that Jack the Ripper isn-t even real? Like what if all of these murders happened around the area by different people? From what I watched is there any CONCLUSIVE evidence this was a serial killer?
reply

This is just mind boggling that this would always remain a mystery we'll never know who -Jack the ripper- was all the cops, the people, the witness they have all died long ago
Its like a graveyard of mysteries

reply

It's important to remember how absolutely useless the police was in Whitechapel, the media found more out than the police and maybe if they actually listened to the media, Jack would've been found.

The Ripper was a special agent named Thomas Bucknell. The same Thomas mentioned in this video. I did a college paper on him and this case.

As a Jewish male named Aaron who-s last name beings with a K, at the height of about 5-6, and being in a family well off family, uhm, hi.

What-s scary is the killer was in such close proximity people think he may have even been part of the crowds discovering the bodies

Imagine a woman fooling everyone by staging her name as a man's name and killing off the prostitutes that were her competition. oh wait.

I dont really know what the big mystery is. It was a psychopath. Just some guy who was crazy. Weve seem lots of them throughout time

I think it was charles cross, if the killer was actually among the suspects. Too convenient that his work schedule and commute matched

-18: 58 Why couldn't one of the bystanders have been Jack? He was obviously great at hiding in the dark and also, in plain sight.
