1: 10 This is a mess. Hector is Trojan. The Golden Fleece is set in an earlier period and more is wrong with this gloss. There is a likely connect between the Mycenaeans and some of the Hebrew and other peoples of the Exodus. The Dorians were a mix of people, including Celts who, over the course the four century dark age period, evolved into who we know as the classical Greeks of the Aegean, from whom Homer, Hesiod, and Thales and other Sages emerge.

Has to be stated that the Italians were responsible for the restoration of many of the historic buildings during their 20th Century occupation. I know this was a brief history of the island but it's a pity that the two great sieges of the island were not mentioned -the one by the Macedonian successor-king to Alexander the Great, Demetrius Poliorcetes and in more modern times the great siege by the Turks which was successful unlike the Poliorcetes one.

Admitted that this was an excellent SHORT history but I was a little disappointed that there was no mention that Suliman was so impressed with the tenacity of the Hospitaller to hold the castle against such overwhelming odds that he gave the survivors free safe passage to Papal waters. A terrific story alas I lost the book many years ago and cannot replace it. I think it was called The Siege of Rhodes

It was the other Turks who conquered the island first time on 1300. Mentesha Beylik was able to hold the island untill the Pope sent Knight Hospitallers on them after 10 years of occupation. Mentesha was even sported by the Republic of Genoa but they stoped sporting them after Pope involved. Than years later Ottomans took the island from them.

Minoans were protogreeks they even theaters. Which was a major criteria to seperate The Hellenes from the rest of the world. Later Romans adopted the same ethics and traditions. Romans even supported their ancestry was from Hercules himself. Also, Minoas mean a happy man, Minoas was a name and later became a title like Ceasar and Augustus.

The minoans were Greeks, another tribe, thats all. also minoans didnt exist. minos was the ruler or the rulers. Cretans are the people. during the time of the Trojan war, in the island all the Greek tribes were living there. cut the crap about different people.

Excellent! I am also very happy that you did not refer to the Colossus of Rhodes as being a giant depiction of Apollo like so many out there for some strange reason tend to want to do. It was Helios people! Not Apollo! Urrrgh! You passed the test! Good show!
