Napoleon\'s Masterpiece: Austerlitz 1805 counting: 8 million dead, many more crippled, disenfranchised, set back decades of progress so that a megalomaniac could get his vicious empire building realized. After it was all said and done, nobody was better off. I hope he burns in hell. He even butchered over 10 to 15, 000 Hungarians. what the hell for? We thought that Napoleon was an disgusting French dwarf, and after the massacre our opinion added evil genocidal maniac. His descendants can't even build a decent car.

I don't like Napoleon at all. what kingdoms of Europe was afraid were republican sistem. Once he became King of France (why emperor) he could have offered peace and guarantee of monarchy sistem to all the king's of Europe. He would have reign for a long long time in France perhaps for generations and lot of people would have lived free of war.

So basically Napoleon trapped his enemies into atacking his lightly defended right flank with a decent force, while atacking allied weakened center with his best forces, and then surrounding and wiping out remaining atacking forces in the right flank. Napoleon's greatest talent was to divide and knock out his enemies one by one

Napoleon is not a military dictator as commentator said, he is the continuator of the ideals of the revolution and the suppression of the royalist, abolutist monarchical feudal system. The English elites will never understand what Napoleon managed to accomplish in Europe and the ideals that his action carried.

I'm always annoyed when people repeat centuries old British propaganda claiming Napolean was the aggressor. The guy fought DEFENSIVE wars against seven bloody coalitions! Declare war, get your ass kicked, beg for peace, break truce, repeat. But Napoleon is the aggressor. History really is written by the victor.

Basically, inbred, genocidal and slimy UK monarchies. in tandem with equally vile other European inbred families decided they didn't like the idea of johnny paesant thinking they weren't needed. The quicker the English Queen and her brood is gone, the better for Europe.

one detail on this. french took eastern adriatic coast from austria and they built a castle imperial on the hill above the city of dubrovnik. that same castle saw battle during croatia's war of independance and was a decisive factor for successful defend of dubrovnik

Lasting peace never was the intention behind the British politics of balance of power on the mainland. It was quite the opposite: Ensuring neverending conflict on the continent in order to remain unchallenged on the isles and plunder and rob the world by sea.

From british side Napoleon is the man bringing war and causing milion of death but from French side he mainly defend France against those european Monarchies and specially the Britain one ploting against France since centuries

Would be nice to provide the contemporary names of these places. Virtually non of these names exist any more. Indeed, austerlitz was the German name for the Moravian town of Slavkov just outside of Brno in Czechia

2: 08 that statement made something click, napoleon was basically against being born into a class and anyone can become anything if worked hard enough, maybe we need someone like that now!

I will never understand how you can put so much effort in researching, animating and presenting something and then mispronounce almost every name (and using the imperial system to boot.

The fact that almost all of europe wanted to stop Napoleon he held out for so long and actually prospored as well shows why he is the greatest military General ever.

This is such a fantastic video series. Straight and to the point. Reminds me of the Total War videogame series except way more historical and accurate. Fantastic.

What happened between battle of Toulon 1793 and this video battle of Austerlitz 1804?
A video about these 11 years of Napoleon Bonaparte would be great!

So the actual reason of Napoleon's success In contrast to his opponents seems to be the way larger amount and detail of information he had access to.

I always find it fascinating how things that seem like common sense -like the corps system - are nowhere near as old as you would've thought.

Not many can come from nothing, chaos and build an empire.
I found the crown of France in the gutter, I picked it up and put it on my head

reply

Hearing balance of power but knowing that means I had all the power and want it back, now that someone challenges all my power.

Are the courses, by The Great Courses Plus about Napoleon run by Anglo-Saxons who will be talking in English with an anti-French bias?
