Barbaric - but not unique for the age. People seem to leave that part out. Most massacres were answers to other massacres. The crusades were literally an answer to tens of thousands of attacks on villages in Europe that were massacres and mass rapes. It usually took Europeans a century of tens of thousands of mass rapes and murders for them to retaliate though, and now they don't retaliate at all. 115, 000 each year, and 1, 250, 000 rapes each year, targeting indigenous Europeans exclusively - and they do not respond. If anything they throw money and rewards at them.

Wait, so the Mulsim World invaded the Christian world to start the Crusades, which started off as defensive for Chrisendom against the invading Seljik Turks invading Anatolia, now Turkey?
I think Muslims are taught the exact opposite as a kind of religious propaganda we have thankfully dropped in former Christendom.
I suppose that makes sense, as most of arab world quickly became muslim states & conquest was certainly not forbidden in what Mohammed taught, but encouraged in the hadith as i recall.

The First Crusade was made by Muslims intent to wipe out Christianity in Western Europe. They called it a 'crusade against the infidel kingdoms'. The westerner knights were called Crusaders because they fought in the war to end the 'crusades against Christianity'. Lying propaganda pieces like this bend history to distort it and make white and/or Christians look evil.

I know of people in today's world who wear a Crusaders Tunic usually in winter under long sleeved garment. They are trained militaristic individuals who have seen all they wish of the world and dedicated their lives to a moral life as they see it. They are also sworn to defend, with their very life the historic life of the so called Christian worldview.

So that's that thing that always gets me that's definitely got to be an overstep of authority on the Pope's part giving people free reign to break all of God's laws as long as they go and kill the people the pope wants dead.
And I'm proud for any good Christians who didn't fall for that and stayed home and live their lives peacefully

The people's crusade thing pisses me off you tell everyone you'll forgive everything they've ever done they go straight to heaven if they go fight your war you don't get the people that you wanted to sign up so you just send them off to hell and leave them to die.
Disgusting

There was no kingdom of Germany or Rhineland at that time. Or many Christians! Most were Celtics and pagans.
This is what propaganda looks like.
Shame on Epic History for saying Christian Crusader killed Jews.
Can't trust anything else that's said.

The enteties In them both chose the lands of the most holy as the battlefield as a strategy to ruin and bring forth what has become today, a circus. Those strategies are still used today on personal levels on the street aswell as geopoliticly on a bigger scale.

A good lesson. A common enemy or threat is always the best way to unite a divided people. as was the case with the Muslims. Crusades were a big disaster, but they did a lot in the way of bringing Europe out of the backwards middle ages.

The US was founded by temple builders.
The results of the world wars cut out the blueprint for the rebuilding of the temple.
Looking at the current events. The Crusades are still happening today

The US was founded by Temple builders/worshippers as the cocoon for the retaking of the holy lands & a rebuilding of the Temple. Those who doubt this fact are not looking at the actions being taken.

the Pope is not in charge of salvation and this was noithing more than a political move using religion. kind of pathetic. the crusaders went for money and pride and lost. they were not good people.

You forgot the Wendish and Livonian crusades. Maybe revisit history?
They are full fledged, brutal, history changing, by the pope approved, in the name of the cross fought wars.

So it was Jews + Muslims against Christians
Then it became Jews+Christians against Muslims
And I guess next it will be
Christians+Muslims against the Jews!

Excellent presentation. This historical episode points to the moral bankruptcy of religion. Their faith didn't stop them from behaving just like any other war party.
