Brad Meltzer's Decoded: Seeling Beale's Treasure - History Thomas: this was completely and incorrect way of decoding. Not only does the deceleration of Independence not have enough words to decoder the first cipher but as well as this decoder forgot that the gold and silver are buried six feet below the surface. You will have to dig that you can stand in.

My grandfather went after the Jefferson Beale treasure several times in Bedford County. A legitimate adventurer and genius, he's claimed that he actually deciphered one of the other two code letters. He trespassed on property illegally dozens of times. He was shot at, and even had dogs turned on him. My father (my grandfather's new son in law at the time) even accompanied him on some of the later trips, and swears to me that they found nearly all of the landmarks that were detailed in the cyphers. My grandfather is still alive, and he tells me that he knows where the treasure is now, and knows exactly what measurements he got wrong last time. He even found the remnants of iron nails via metal detector that was part of the frame of the cabin that the cyphers allude to. He feels like he was off by mere hundreds of feet on his last search. I have begged him to tell me what he knows, and although he is now too old for one last hunt, he tells me it is too dangerous to traipse on that property. I'm hoping he will finally tell me the location before he passes. Hopefully, that won't be for several more years, but old age catches up to us all and he's not physically able to take that journey anymore. Anyway, thought I'd share. I have a decent chance of claiming the Beale treasure someday. At least, more than most.

Something I like to point out, in the one that was translated. According to it, Beale digged the treasure somewhere 5 miles from Buford, Virginia and somewhere in Bedford Virginia. So I like to point out that it doesn't make sense where it would be more than that many miles in Philadelphia. Otherwise, something is wrong with the 2nd translated or he came close but messed up somewhere along the way.

I know where the Actual Treasure is with No Way to Actually Get It, That would Require a 5, 000 Dollar Metal Detector, BTW you guys are Not Even Close, It's Not in Pennsylvania or Virginia, as Far as the Cipher is Concerned I Found the Spanish Key.

Santa Fe should have records of any Gringos in town. Very protective culture back then. They did not want outsiders visiting. Check out the records and I doubt you will find the sale of mining gear to outsiders.

The Gold Bug theory was just lame as it was published in 1843, twenty one years prior to the letter. I think I can crack it to the same degree of correctness using a lucky charms box in one hour.

Wow! That Beale REALLY had a treasure and rather than keep it, he buried it and made it available with puzzles. I would do that too. Isn't that what EVERYBODY does when they have a treasure?
reply

As soon as I heard him say a mansion in Philadelphia, I knew that was incorrect; all historical records say Virginia. In the cipher that was cracked, it said it was buried in Virginia.

If you decode #1 page first few lines it gives you the instructions for the rest of #1 and then at the end, it gives you the instructions for #2 page.

lol Daniel of search. i would go at night and topple the whole freaking place down if there was that much wealth hidden in it

The Beale Ciphers are Culper Spy Codes. Plain and simple and I challenge anyone to say otherwise. And I'll prove em wrong.

-So how did you find it-. -well, I pulled the answer out of my fourth point of contact-. Hows that's for a riddle.

tv show is absolutely horrible. those guys are totally acting and could care less about what they are investigating.

The Beale code was written in 1820. The Golden bug came out in 1843. There is no way this can be possible!
reply

This is so staged and fake
And what makes him think there's gold when the 2nd cipher has the contents?

reply

People couldn't even develop toilet paper but can write a code that people in 2, 000 that cant crack mmm lol
reply

lol the declaration of Independence has around 1400 words. The numbers in the first cipher reach up to 2900
