Lincoln's Breakthrough at the Lincoln-Douglas Debates - Abraham Lincoln Non: Funny how -history- is re-written.
Lincoln said in the Lincoln/Douglas debate: - I will say here, while upon this subject, that I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so. I have no purpose to introduce political and social equality between the white and the black races. There is a physical difference between the two, which, in my judgment, will probably forever forbid their living together upon the footing of perfect equality, and inasmuch as it becomes a necessity that there must be a differences.
A letter from Lincoln to Horace Greeley
Executive Mansion,
Washington, August 22, 1862.
Hon. Horace Greeley:
Dear Sir.
I have just read yours of the 19th. addressed to myself through the New-York Tribune. If there be in it any statements, or assumptions of fact, which I may know to be erroneous, I do not, now and here, controvert them. If there be in it any inferences which I may believe to be falsely drawn, I do not now and here, argue against them. If there be perceptable in it an impatient and dictatorial tone, I waive it in deference to an old friend, whose heart I have always supposed to be right.
As to the policy I -seem to be pursuing- as you say, I have not meant to leave any one in doubt.
I would save the Union. I would save it the shortest way under the Constitution. The sooner the national authority can be restored; the nearer the Union will be -the Union as it was. - If there be those who would not save the Union, unless they could at the same time save slavery, I do not agree with them. If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could at the same time destroy slavery, I do not agree with them. My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union. I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause. I shall try to correct errors when shown to be errors; and I shall adopt new views so fast as they shall appear to be true views.
I have here stated my purpose according to my view of official duty; and I intend no modification of my oft-expressed personal wish that all men every where could be free.
Yours,
A. Lincoln.

Barack Obama would be the last person you would want telling you about Abraham Lincoln. He's contaminated with socialism.
It was pretty good series except for those modern-day historians interrupting to put their modern morals/CRT propaganda into children's minds. The real history is there for you to interpret, with out some contaminated socialist telling you how you should think.

Funny, Douglas didn-t want to meet with Lincoln on a debate stage. Douglas clearly would be bringing a knife to a gunfight.
He said a mouthful in -Black Republican Platform-, I see many people returning to that Republican platform today of all colors. I-m glad that we can stand on the side of history today.

reply

He ultimately wanted what was best for them knowing first hand how wrong it was to enslave any man black or white - his Congressional push was to free them and give them the option of staying or going back to Africa as Congress had allocated $100, 000 forty years earlier to send them to Liberia!

Abraham Lincoln and Barack Hussein Obama are complete opposites, Lincoln was the Greatest President ever and Obama was the worst President in U. S history and it's pathetic to have this American hater talking about Lincoln who loved America. Absolutely poor video made in poor taste!
reply

Obama gave $150 billion dollars to the to eight in the bed and comfort are enemies and he's talking about Lincoln Lincoln is a republican not a Democrat why don't you stick to what you know
reply

Just saying I-m not sure Lincoln did anything that was inadvertent. I suspect he knew the reason ramifications of what he was saying otherwise when challenged he would not have answers.
reply

Obama is a Democrat. Lincoln was a Republican. Trump is more like Lincoln than Obama ever could have dreamed of. Republicans are for freedom. Democrats are for oppression.
reply

Why does the Douglas character actor sport a Southern accent? Douglas was born in Vermont and lived in Illinois. Propaganda effect perhaps?
reply

I'll save everyone the trouble of watching this series.
SLAVERY IS BAD, THAT'S THE WHOLE REASON FOR ABE LINCOLN BECOMING PRESIDENT.

reply

I love how the video opens with the worst president of all time talking about the best president of all time
reply

I think this series nailed the actor choices. The Obama comments were a nice touch. Thanks for making this!
reply
