Hidden away on the high peaks of Persia and Syria, the shadowy Order of Assassins (hashashin) ensures its survival by maintaining agents in the courts of rival kings and statesmen, and striking when the time comes. But a new enemy hails from the East. The Mongol hordes lay waste to Persia, and soon look toward the mountains and the defiant Order of Assassins. This is the story of the Mongols vs. Assassins war

I like the rhythm and eloquence of the narrator in this video. Only reminds me more that the Lord himself never lacked courage when challenging any leader of assassins in ancient Rome or at any time. All he gained at first while doing so was for example near the end of his efforts during his first visit here was then to be seeing all of his immediate family members saying to all in public there that he was only a crazy one after his mother only 3 years prior had told all to obey him instead. When all looked to be lost anyway despite how his own mother had tried to disguise his true wisdom to another leader of the assassins so he could live for another day while getting away whole - his father didn't disappoint him then by only leaving him in his grave.

Emmm, Israel did not exist as a country, region, or as any other entity in 1192. In fact, it only existed for a few centuries in ancient times and was referred to both Israel and Judah. Acre wasn't even a part of Israel until the modern country was founded in 1948. Either the creator of this video is ignorant or massively biased and trying to push a false narrative; whichever one it is - if he can't get this right, I wouldn't trust the rest of the video. It's like referring to Constantinople as Istanbul when showing a video about the Byzantine Empire, and on top of that using Greek script to spell out the word Istanbul. It's absolutely ludicrous and this guy is lost.

People saying this story should have been covered in the Assassin's Creed series but honestly there is no story to be told here. There was no real conflict, it was a complete massacre. However, it is not as if this conflict is not mentioned in the games as in AC: Revelations it is shown that in Altair's final days he orders the evacuation of Masyaf due to the incoming Mongols, has all of his books from his library shipped off elsewhere, and peacefully passes in the library.

'Israel 1192'? That would be like saying 'Yugoslavia 1600'. Israel was not the name of this area at this point of history. You didn't introduce your Vikings Vs Natives video with 'USA 1000'. What an obvious inclusion to promote the legitimacy of an apartheid state.
The historically accurate name would be 'Canaan', but 'The Holy Land' would not only be more accurate, but also more informative as to the subject of the video.

Now I looked this up, I didnt watch before saying this so Im not suggesting he said this in the video, but I never thought Assassins Creed chose Masyaf because of anything other than it being a cool castle. I knew it was a real place, but I never knew it was the original and main stronghold of the goddamn Hashshashin.
(Yes its spelled like that, I know some people might find it odd)

You did a lot of great work here but opening with Israel 1192 is not a great way to tell people you've done your research, even if you have otherwise. I'm sorry to have to say that and I don't have any agenda behind this but I mean. really dudes.

imagine if the order of assasins still exist today, but they have become such pros that their kills look like accidents or natural deaths so they wouldnt be discoverd. i mean there is alot a well schooled assasin can achieve with poisen

It's somewhat depressing to think about where humanity might be today if not for how the destruction of written word, artistic creation, and architecture was (is) the order of the day.

It wasn't known as Israel in 1192, bad start to the video! The geographical area now known as Israel was then split between the Crusader States and the Dominion of Saladin.

It is palatine, i already know your history is modified to fit your ideology just seeing you write the name of that Zionist regime instead of the real name of that land.

I feel if the assassins kept going before that dudes son became leader, they probably could have won just from attrition. If not, at least they would last a while
reply

Israel 1192? Why not write the name of the actual kingdom that was in place at the time? Do you also write USA 1600 when talking about native american tribes?

I highly recommend reading these 2 books: Samarkand by Amin Maalouf and Alamut by Vladimir Bartol. Same history seen through different lenses. Just beautiful
