Remastered version of a long film captured all around Denmark in 1920. The beautiful Denmark, the country by the Sound and the Belt, - the smiling beaches, the bright forests, the lush farmland. A kaleidoscopic journey through Denmark. First, a tour of Copenhagen, including Tivoli Gardens, City Hall Square, the Marble Church, Amalienborg Palace, Dr. Louise's Bridge and the normal busy everyday life in the capital, as well as the nature in Dyrehaven just north of Copenhagen. From Zealand, you can see Stevns Klint with Gammel H-jerup Church, the Goose Tower in Vordingborg, Fredensborg Castle, Nakkehoved Lighthouse in Gilleleje and Kronborg Castle. There is plenty of footage of beach life on the beaches of North Zealand and the rocky coast of Bornholm. On Funen you can see Christiansminde near Svendborg and the ferry to T-singe. From Jutland you can see The Silkeborg Lakes, Himmelbjerget, Aalborg, which is connected to N-rresundby by two bridges, Skagen with Holger Drachmann's grave, the west coast of Jutland (probably Thorup Strand and Bovbjerg, Esbjerg with its fishing port, Fan-, Ribe with its cathedral and old houses, M-gelt-nder, Schackenborg Castle, Dybb-l and S-nderborg, Galgebakken and Brundlund Castle with the castle mill in Aabenraa, Gr-sten Castle, Haderslev, Aarhus Cathedral, Koldinghus and the traffic hub Fredericia, which connects Funen and Jutland, and Vejle

These fixes to old footage are utterly fantastic. They make history so much more relatable and tangible. Much better than the grainy, black and white, wrong speed films we used to watch. Everything is so much more human. I might often have thought that people had to squeeze into those suits and dresses reluctantly, or consider them uncomfortable, same with the beach wear, but nothing of the sort, people look so natural, (naturally lol, with real agency and character just like today (of course lol) but it was always missing from the old clips which removed you even further from the humanity of people in the past. These clips however bring it that back. I hope all the film ever shot pre 1930 for example, can get the same treatment in time and affirm that people of the past were literally exactly like us and dispel the idea latent in most people today that our tech advances somehow makes us superior humans with superior lifestyles. They don't. And what a great place to live, quaint idyllic towns, beautiful architecture, life at human pace, purposeful physical work, little tourism, little over crowding. Oh well.

It doesn't seem to be from 1920s. Just looking at the clothing and type of transportation, you could tell that it can go as far back as 1900s! You can only see vehicles here and there while the main transportation seems to be horses (stagecoaches, wagons, etc. Same thing applies to clothing! Particularly women's dresses. Women are all fairly covered all over their body! It was not the fashion of 1920s!

Odd video place overpopulated with adults, the men seem rather long legged and most of the women, there are are no babies in prams excet. for 1, no toddlers, I see 5 kids looked to be about 5yrs old but the other are older kids 10, 12 and older. Was this the turn of a world reset with the orphan kids?

My Grandfather came from Denmark through Ellis Island back in 1906 or thereabouts. I was in Copenhagen back in the 70's and saw my last name everywhere. Petersen with an E before N not O! LOL I like it when they are able to colorize early movies. Thanks for sharing!

It looks pretty evident that this film of Denmark in 1920 shows a country that hadn't gone through the economic devastation of the WWI. A prosperous and orderly society. O so it seems. Wonderful country back then. Hope it still is.

Horses drew so much in the olden days. Nowadays you hardly ever see horses draw at all. All that talent lost. Whenever I go for walks in the countryside, I always take crayons, pencils and paper to give out to horses in fields.

Turn this into VR and you my friend have a TIME MACHINE! This feels like the first time I saw the internet. I didn't truly comprehend what I was seeing. This is truly remarkable. It brings the past to the present!

How beautiful! Everyone looks so stylish. Wish I can see that now. Looks like a fairy tale. They look happier than people today. Buildings are so beautiful. So much nicer than any modern building.

The man that is on the left that bowed his head is actually Jack the Ripper. They have sights of him. Because he leaves mark and too cocky to go against the guards.

Absolutely love the old gentleman waving his hat everyone on the Rollercoaster. And they all wave back, lovely. Those cliff side houses must be all long gone

Fascinating! Particularly like the chap walking bottom left right at the beginning of the video, with his right arm on his hip. Obviously wants to be looked at!

Really interesting to watch, though I noticed it seems like the footage is in slow motion. I sped it up to 1. 15x speed and that seems about right.

This is incredible. I work in film restoration as well. Would be very interested to know what types of software are used for the various aspects.

You'll never see era's architecture equalled again. Asides. 12: 13 'APOTEK' apothecary? 'Water, water, every where'. 'UDGANG' way out.

Seeing this wonderful thing, I think that the society we live in today is much worse than in those years. Wonderful Denmark and its people

Wow---so much modernity for that time period. I thought people in the 1920's were sleeping in caves and running around naked.

how come flags are blue color and they say Denmark flag is the oldest flag today. shouldn't be red instead of blue?

Before the dystopia world of modern times. It seams still there is some harmony with nature and a sense of belonging.
