The column of Trajan was and still remains one of the most outstanding monuments located in the center of ancient Rome. For centuries, it remains a mute witness of the outstanding past of the great empire. Its reliefs dedicated to the Dacian Wars are a valuable and interesting historical source. In this regard, we could not help paying special attention to the reconstruction of the column in order to show, as qualitatively and authentically as possible, how this monument might have looked in antiquity. We are pleased to present the result of long months of working - for the first time in the world, a completely polychromatic reconstruction of the Trajan’s column was completed, with detailed restoration and completely colorized reliefs of the column and pedestal. We believe that we were able to carry out this work at a high level by working through a number of historical sources and studying the historical background. You have an opportunity to have a look at the reconstruction of the column and peristyle of the Trayan forum by viewing our new video trailer, which has been made using new visualization tools. We hope that this work will be appreciated by the public, and this column will take its place as the pearl of our project of the virtual reconstruction of the center of the Eternal City

It never occurred to me that the column was painted, but it should have. So much was painted in the ancient world. The Elgin Marbles taken from the Acropolis still had traces of paint that were removed when they were put on display in England.

_Aetate Traiani. _
_. Inter bibliothecas duas ab eodem principe constitutas, stat alta columna in qua bella quae Traianus in Dacia gessit plurimis imaginibus illustrantur. In summa columna statua imperatoris aerea posita est. _

This magnificent monument signals the birth of Romania (then ancient Dacia) and is a testament of the disciplined emperor who achieved what sounded suicidal at the time: the conquest of the warring kingdom of Dacia. Hats off!

Hello, I'm a VR developer and would love to volunteer my time to work with you on turning these into high-quality VR apps for Education. I'd be happy to show you some of my VR work if you're interested.

The column was finished in the year 113 AD, not 320. Traianus died in 117. There is a big confusion here. In 320 emperor was Constantin, the one who imposed Christianity as the State religion. Huge confusion.

I wonder how the column was read by spectators in a day before magnification of any kind. Was there possibly another version of the unrolled scroll at eye-level somewhere in the complex

Sure the color really lit up the column, but the music makes me feel like Trajan came and lit my village on fire while I was out trading.
