As a Western Physician speaking fluent Mandarin living in Asia for over 40 years I’ve had to endure the Chinese insults of; we Chinese have a culture over 5, 000 years old! ( and that’s a LIE) you western hairy barbarians have no culture! China will rule the world take what you have and be done with you!
Well besides today’s communist China having rejected all traditional Chinese culture of the past in favor of foreign Jewish creation of communism and a New China solidified with a Cultural Revolution. It would have been fun to see the Chinese shamed with the Utter MAGNIFICENCE AND OVERWHELMING MAJESTY OF ANCIENT ROME! The Chinese Imperial City is lovely of course, but cannot reflect the IMMENSITY and overwhelming POWER and INCLUSIVE CULTURE that was Rome

All that work in constructing this beautiful massive building, and it ends up being plundered. Unimaginable. It's unfortunate that it wasn't kept up. It was impressively gorgeous. What the he'll were they thinking, all that marble should have lasted all these years. Such magnificence. And it was plundered and let go to waste. Inconceivable. I bet the Vatican did a lot of plundering, they were always the first when it came to knocking down properties for their own gain.

How lovely to be able to visit the baths without having to endure the bores and the boors, the thieves and conmen, the writers soliciting subscriptions and the politicians soliciting votes, the philosophers and poets declaiming to anyone who ventured near, the raucous Hooray Henries with their thuggish bodyguards, the keep-fit fanatics grunting at their exercises, and all the smelly sweat, greasy water, and garlic breath that made up the populace.

Be cool to see the underground to this place, Firewood carted in daily, and all those SLAVES feeding the furnace whilst the Roman Citizen lounged in luxury for a minimal cost above. TARANTINO should make a flick about this, what with all the family drama associated with it. Caracalla worked the Slaves to death every day for nine years to buy back Rome's love after he whacked his Bro See this place Works for me. Does have a QT element to it.

I have visited the remains of the Baths of Caracalla and found them to be magnificent and extremely impressive. This reconstruction puts some flesh on the bones and really shows off what incredible designers, architects and builders the Romans were. Even if the images of the wall coverings here are not completely accurate, they still give an idea of what the Baths would have looked like.

Very impressive tour with such exact artistry! It's easy to escape into the time period with your beautiful representation that speaks a thousand words! How did they create such perfect and highly polished columns Were all the statues gold leafed Such beautiful sculptures, everything! I imagine to create such perfect columns they must have had some kind of amazing lathe or turning method.

Do you imagine that there were retails stalls installed inside the baths Perhaps eateries and restaurants Maybe even a cinema complex Surgeries Dentists Optometrists Rental space I mean. Otherwise how else could they afford to build something like this I suppose the government charged an entrance fee. It looks futurist to me. We’re not there yet.

I wonder how is it possible to know if the details of decoration in the video are accurate. I would suppose the reconstruction of the rooms can be recreated with certainty, but how do we know about the decoration Is it an assumption or based in actual research Nevertheless, the video is really great. I loved it.

I believe this a true rendition of the bath’s architecturally. But for how these baths looked during a normal day would not be so nice. It was probably packed with people coming and going and some what noisy. Most likely some bad behavior and some thefts. Maybe even a fight or two

Such a magnificently luxurious structure for what I would expect is at most a few hundred potential users!
Such decadence. Also the engineering required to have clean hygienic water without chemicals like chlorine and electricity.
Mind boggling.

Just imagine how much better job a contemporary modernist architect would do: columns - unnecessary, statues - tacky, roof - flat of course, stucco walls - yuck! And we would get a perfect functional slab. Examples to admire in a city near you.

It reminds me to the Szechenyi in Budapest, Hungary, I was in them 5 years ago. If those baths of Budapest ant luxurious and magnificent I can’t imagine how the Obed in Rome were, surely out of the world! Wow!

The Romans had no knowledge of germ theory, and they lacked other modern medical knowledge about the transfer of disease, therefore one can only wonder how many infections were spread in these baths

if only people knew how much evil was done in those baths. Gold gods. Naked men. Young boys. Children. Pure evil. IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW. Rome has been evil for a LONG TIME.

Was there today, honestly it's bigger than it looks like. This videos takes you through it accurately. The large swimming pool that's a meter deep was the most impressive feat. to me.

Just leaving out the lots of slaves in the cellar working 20 hours a day in a far too hot environment keeping the fires on, not living more than 35-40 years.

Some of the columns seem to be of granite. Is their any surviving documentation of how the precision and finishing polish was obtained in such a hard material

You should have included some people in order to get a impression for the size of that place. The Baths are huge and still impressive after hundreds of years.

Wouldn't it be nice if the Italian government rebuilt this bath right now in Rome Maybe this will then restore the ancient Roman tradition of public baths.

I went to Italy in 1983 and toured the Baths of Caracalla. Truly an architectural masterpiece. I wonder how much it would cost to build this today
