I would LOVE if someone did a full video on how the hell to survive the Mongols as an eastern faction! As Kiev im established vilnius and oslo. in west to ryzan and Constantinople in the east. Had bankrolled the Cumans as a delaying tactic till i could bring enough longbow mercenaries and norse archers from west to east (anything that can lay stakes. Then the mongols took a pot shot at my Byzboy allies! So now I'm trying ti hold them at the Volga after moving unto territory once it was clear they'd fall. I have all the crossings fully covered aside from the Kazan-->> Novgorod northern route, but that s also has the longest and with the most cover. Any ideas on what to do next Around 1290, the Teutonics just spawned again but otherwise Europe is too divided and pope too strong to pose much of a threat so ATM its me n byz allues holding the horse at bay

is this ahistorical Like, did Kievan Rus still exist when the golden horde was officially established, or had they been officially destroyed (minus Novgorod, that is) I thought the horde was only established at Sarai after the battle of Kalka river in 1212 and the sack of rus principalities.
