This just makes me sad that exams are still a thing that colleges think is acceptable. This is so much work for a single person, and as I have proven by doing my absolute best but still failing repeatedly, it doesn't always work out either, and leaves you screwed when you do. Tests and exams are terribly set up, and professors don't know how to teach. So instead we have to pretty much change the way our lives work just to cope with school because it's basically a life requirement for most people.
Tests are stressful and exams are draining, and they're that way for a reason. Because students are afraid of failure. They're afraid of failure because they know they don't fundamentally understand everything they're required to know, and what they're required to know is just insane. Not only is some of it not taught in class, but these students, some of which have actual important jobs, are then supposed to go home, drained from school and work, just to sit down and study.
Not only does studying not work in the first place, but to even be somewhat acceptably effective, you need to be doing it every day, for hours. People just don't have infinite amounts of time. They need their own time to do things they want to do, and sleep.
When I tried going to school once, I literally had 3 hours to sleep 4 days of the week, sometimes less. And I still failed, because I wasn't able to function. I tried again, electing to instead give up all of that time for additional sleep and me time. It still didn't work, and I still had a hard time just getting up every day. There's no balance to strike here.
Why there even needs to be a guide for getting through exams, partially to minimally effectively, is just nonsense. People should have to worry about this

Well, im not doing my finals, But whenever im stressed, upset or just want to relax Because im tired, i play my keyboard, i learn it at school, Because ill be doing music for my GCSE in year 11. Its So relaxing, being able to play pop music, then switch it to classical, then musicals and rock, and tango its just the best! Music always makes me feel good, like, i can do and be anything i want, the world is my canvas as people would Say. I forget all my worries, all my problems, as i listen to the song im playing, its like magic, it feels like i can do anything and that all the power is at the tip of my Fingers! I read that playing the Piano/ keyboard can cure depression, well, definetly works for me as a body guard to ever Even getting it! Im definetly not sadder than other people, unlike other introverts, as you Mentioned in your what is a introvert video. sorry this is So long. i should know better than to go on rambles about music. as Per usual.

I disagree with a lot of this. Im introverted, I love sleep, but if you have a ton of things to do before finals, work on the small things that youll get 100% on even though its worth like 1/10 of the exam grade.
From personal experience and advice through the learning center
If you have 5 things worth 10 points and an exam worth 100, make sure you do the small ones 1st, youd automatically have 50/150 on test vs if you even get 100/100 on test, you could only get a 100/150. Every point counts, also pick what classes matter most for you GPA or major.
Good luck to anyone taking a test

Before finals, I usually alternate learning with playing games (usually the games that are harder and keep your brain going, it's not wise to play something mentally relaxing because that may make you lazy. Play more and learn less if the final is easy. Do the opposite if the final is hard. If the final is VERY hard, you should try to break your habit and learn continuously (that may be very hard, but think that you'll be 'free' after that.

I am an introvert that has had a lot of truble studying lately, it is not that i cant remember any informations or that i dont understand some but not being able to focus at all, i sit down woth my book and i just cant keep reading it so that i memorise things for school
I have no problem what so ever with leaening during classes as longs as ppl that go to the class with me arent talking or causing truble

Tbh for exams, I have about 40 different plans in case something goes wrong; if something happens to where none of the plans will work I try to work around the events that come afterward. However, for my final project in speech class, I was just trying to get through the class without crying in the middle of one of my speeches and waiting until after class to do so. I did not meet that goal.

Well I just went through my finals and it went surprisedly well considering the fact that I didn't study much and also didn't went to school for a month due to household problems
I'm just happy it went okay
PS I'm an introvert which means I get under pressure easily especially my exams
but I told myself that just do what you already know and do your best

I enjoy finals. There was this one time that I was so into an exam that I lost track of time and only filled in the first half until I realized that it was time to turn in the paper. That was fun. I even was surprised I got an average score, even though I knew everything to get a perfect score. Time flies man.

Me: falls face first onto my bed after I get home from school after passing finals, ready to indulge myself in the realm of sleep
My Mom: walks in Hey, I'm gonna need you to do a lot of chores while I'm gone!
Me: .. .. slowly starts dying inside

Wish I knew this when I began studying at college but in the end I wasn't very interested in that career (4 maths. only good thing is that I can still apply this with the other career in studying and for now all is going well. Thanks for the tips: D

I could have used this little pep talk when I was still in college. Now that I recently graduated after being in college for a while longer than originally planned, the ending totally still helped me fell a little better: )

What are finals? I only have a lot of exams in a month but I never heard of finals. Probably it is because I am living in a different country and have a different school system but still I am curious about it.

About the reward thing, I don't know if it works on my lazy self, it just doesn't motivate me. And when I do reward myself, it doesn't feel any different. Maybe it just don't work on me or I'm doing wrong

Well, after reading some of the comment:
Congratulations on finishing your finals! And goodluck for the ones still taking it!
Once I'm in college Imma need to watch this repeatedly.

I don't really do this much for exams but when I'm a little stressed out with something like homework I just put my head down and close my eyes I sounds pretty weird now that I think about it
reply

uhhh I'm pretty sure extroverts struggle the most on exams, while introverts just breeze through it. Extroverts just happen to be quiet when they don't know a question and just slump there
reply

I go outside for walks or play some games on my computer to distress since finals are coming up in a few weeks and there's so much I feel like I need to do before I take my exams.

For me, I draw all over my test. Cheesy jokes for when I go back and grade it, notes in a secret language, Minecraft characters having a Christmas party on the front page.

Its easy. Don't take to many classes. slow and steady wins the race. The worlds a shitty place to be. so why rush out the door when you can enjoy what your learning

My grades are dropping and Ive basically given up on the schools I want to go to. I just cant take doing the work anymore. Everything seems so useless in the end

I have so, so, so many things due before the end of November and honestly I'm wanting to cry because I've wasted so much time and I'm so stressed but oh well.

Got an exam in Jan. However needed this to push more into doing the little stuff. I wind down with watching and having my own time after a certain time.

I am am introvert That last thing really made me shook because I took 2 years gap from taking my degree after collage and I am just sad and mad at my self
reply

Actually, I think being an introvert is easier to get prepared for an exam because you have much more time to study. At least that's how I dealt with them.
