I learned pretty early on how to figet silently since I always annoyed everyone lol _
So I fight buy:
1. Pacing. If I'm sitting for too long by reading, binging a tv show, or watching a movie, I'll need sometime to just pace. This varies based on how l9ng I was sitting for. Such as if I just watched 10 episodes of something and was forced to watch more dispite my limit being reached, I'll then need to pace or go on a walk for about half an hour;
2. Swaying. If I'm standing I'm usually still in movement by swaying side to side. This is usually unconscious until it's pointed put to me to stop;
3. Leg and feet movement. I usually jiggle my leg a bunch or tap my feet in the ground, or am just continuously repositioning myself in my seat;
4. Tapping. This is less when I'm just sitting but on like to tap things, usually in a rythem or a random beat (This goes for foot tapping as well)
5. Muscles. As mentioned in the beginning I learned a way to figet silently, this is it _ for this one I tighten and loosen the different muscles in my body. Sometimes my arm muscles, my leg muscles, my thigh/butt Muscles, shoulder muscles.
6. Scrunching my eye. Every now and then I need to stretch my eyes, I do this by tightly closing them and moving the eyeball underneath, this practice actually really helped me when I was walking for 3 hours in -40 weather cuz my face never froze _
I've noticed that when listening to something for a very long time it usually helps me to pay attention if I'm pacing or out for a long walk, which is the type of focus I do NOT get from figetting;
Also I was diagnosed with ADHD-Inattentive;

I used to shake my legs a lot but i was always told to quit the habit because good decent girls dont shake their legs and always got scolded when i did. So instead i bob my head. Its not very obvious bobbing or shaking its just a thing i do because when i do that head movement i could feel the top of the neck bone connecting the head shift a little and make a small sound only i can hear in my head. Ive had this habit of slightly bobbing my head since i was like 10 or even younger. I didnt really get much scolding to stop it since the adults didnt really notice most of the time so now im 24 and i still find myself doing it. Only people who r sitting extremely close to me can actually notice the movement. But i feel like its kinda bad for my neck and head lol since i got some neck problems now. Probably due to my bad sitting posture but still i wish i could quit it. I used to think it was a tic but i can control it once i notice im doing that. I find myself fidgeting with my head when Im usually zoned out, feeling a little pressured or focusing a lot. I wonder does anyone know how i could maybe quit it. Since i cant seem to control it well these days. I wouldnt like for it to stay with me forever.

A year ago i got diagnosed with anxiety by a professional and i take medication but it doesnt help a lot in this part: ( sometimes it annoys people and i feel bad for myself.
I dont get any toys because my parents think its a waste of money, and i can play with what i have-Its not even fair!
People frequently tell me that i should stop acting like a baby and that honestly hurts: (
I honestly think im autistic, or i have adhd.
I wont self diagnose because im not sure but im honestly wondering.
Thanks for Reading!

1 more thing why does fidgeting improve our memory/mind/brain:
Compared to those not fidgeting, fidgeting makes our mind active because it constantly sends neurons to move. And to those who does not fidget, like in the research, it is hard for them to take the informations to sink in their brain because their brain is passive and at the state of sleep.

+Psych2Go Fidgeting is part of the self-regulation complex on the autism spectrum. I, for example, notice myself _constantly_ changing position on ill-fitting seats to keep my thigh circulation up; there are many places where posture rules are not always followed and those places I judge ripe for a high incidence of stimming.

I had an English teacher who couldnt stand it when someone would click their pens, so he would grab the persons pen and chuck it at his door. His door looked thrashed because every time he chucked a pen at the door it left an indent/mark.

I only fidget if I think about fidgeting, but of course, when I fidget I naturally think about my fidgeting. So I get into these feedback loops where I fidget a ton for an hour or so, but otherwise it doesnt really happen. Anyone else?
