You just can't go wrong falling in love with a psych major. Here are the reasons why Bud: I'm chatting with a psych graduate. We been arguing thru text and she's constantly trying to blame me for everything. I told her I do take some blame for where were at in the relationship but it's your fault too and I kindly pointed some things and situations out to her. She comes back with oh its all my fault huh you didn't do nothing blame me crap. Then when I voice my concerns and feelings she blows up saying you always make it about you make it beneficial to you there's no way to get her to see it from outside the box she acts like she is the victim when being a licensed psychologists should be ashamed of herself for stone walling me and for her Avoidant dismissive insecure attachments she caused many arguments or she checks out saying have a good day and we won't text all day. And get this she refuses to talk on the phone. Why idk. I tell her text is monotone and hearing voice you hear expression and emotions. Passes her off. Ay ya yi so yeah she's opposite of what your describing lol great video though

This isn't a reason to date a psych major. It's more of 'fall in love with an introspective, compassionate, open-minded person. These are things my own girlfriend has said she likes about me, funnily enough! lol I'm not even a psych major! I'm a gen-ed major with a focus on funeral services.
Don't try to group all psych majors under the same traits! If you know everyone is different, why generalise a college major? I question your motives! Nice try, Jerry, but just because you are studying Psychology it doesn't mean you are all these things you claim! Practice what you preach and all that jazz. Sounds like someone is trying a new tactic to get a date. A logarithm net for fish in the sea? Who knows. All I know is that this is clearly biased.

Little rant about how so many people wanna study psychology: there's nothing wrong with being interested in this stuff but if you have literally 0 empathy you really shouldn't take this path. Like, I'd really love to study it but can't because the grades you have to have for this are ridiculously high in good universities in Germany, because so many people want to study it. Like, my best friend is generally really interested in this but he admitted himself that he had no sympathy whatsoever. He doesn't think this might be a problem but it definitely is for psychotherapists- which he wants to be one day. So: Don't take the places of people who could do better than you just to realise that you can't do this halfway through your first year.

As someone with a BA in Developmental Psych and an MA in Forensic Psych, my advice isn't always heeded. And I can overthink at times. And we are the victims of the age old joke about being the ones who give great advice, but never follow their own. Plus, financial stability? Not as someone making under 6 figure salary living in Silicon Valley! And oh yeah, I'm not a psychologist, psychiatrist or even a counselor. I work as a staff person at a community college.

As a psych major, I can attest that all of these are true. However, it is often hard for us to embody all of these traits, as much as we try. I often find it difficult to be nonjudgmental and often keeping secrets is very hard on us and can be stressful for us. Dating a psych major is great, but remember that we have struggles too. I know from experience that we tend to focus more on taking care of others than we do ourselves.

This video was a good one for me. but in an interesting way. It was actually reassuring, because I'm a high school student who is a planning on majoring in Psych. This was reassuring because I already displays some of the qualities described, such as a capability to listen. That makes me feel like Psych is the path for me!
(Also I'm single ladies, just sayin xD)

This is incredibly generalised. I know plenty of psych majors who aren't these things. It's also a fallacy that psychotherapists give advice, it depends on the approach or school of thought the person practices in. Please consider not giving out such generalised information, it feels incredibly redundant when you have lots of factual videos

I myself am a psych major and I'm currently dating someone who is also a psych major. Some of my teachers used to say a psych student could never fall in love with another psych student and I always defended the contrary, therefor I completely appreciate and agree the content of the video

This is kinda a weird topic. though there is some merit to these points saying 'you should fall in love with a psych major' feels kind of wrong. personality will alwaus trump, not what someone studied! (Being a psych major isn't automatically going to make you good partner material)

Most Phych majors are messed up in the first place and take courses in this false religion to get answers and just get PC socialist indocrination. The suicide rate of phycologist may only be surpassed by police officers. SAD.

As a psych major, I can say that only people who really like psychology and school are like this. People that study it to solve their own problems and/or judge and manipulate people are obviously not going to be like this.

I AM a psych major. People might fall in love with me. But I don't. I can't. Because I know exactly what I want and I don't compromise and that leads in breakup. Also. Being a Capricorn doesn't help too

My last ex girlfriend was a psych student and now graduated. She was the best thing that happened to me. This video describes her and I am lucky to be loved by someone like her even for just 5 months

It's also not uncommon for psych majors to suffer from varying degrees of narcissistic disturbance (codependence, which maybe is a not so attractive point you wisely omited in your video? (Hum)
reply

My wife is a psychologist and doesn't sound like you described at all. She is a narcissistic
sociopath. :/ Every person in the therapist and psychology field that I met seems crazy.
