1 You show up late.
It takes time to evade my parole officer. Sometimes longer than usual.
+++
2 You forget their name.
I usually etch it on the table with a suitably sharp object. Sometimes I have trouble spelling it.
+++
3 You use filler words.
I talk. slowly. enough. so it doesnt. matter.
+++
4 You interrupt people repeatedly.
Normally I do not, but sometimes when I interject while they are in the bathroom, it does appear to be awkward. Sometimes
+++
5You avoid eye contact.
I use a lot of hand gestures. Poking them in the eye is accidental, most of the time.
+++
6. You only talk about yourself.
Not so. I often talk about those I have been stalking and have surveillance video of too.
+++
7 You answer your phone.
No. But I sense some issue when I answer theirs.
+++
8 You complain too much.
Define too much, and, why are you saying I complain too much? I find that triggering. Everything you are doing is triggering. Things you are about to do are triggering. Triggering is a word I find triggering
+++
9 You tell long stories.
The history of tax law takes time. I do offer a break after chapter 16. I think it might be following them and interrupting them in the bathroom that is more an issue.
+++
10 You don't ask questions.
I usually have a questionnaire that I give out after the q-and-a session about tax law. If they have questions, they can ask it then. The questionnaire includes insightful queries like, How do you like me so far? or does anyone know you are here? or Do you have an STDs? or Are there any STDs you would like to have? YES. I ask questions. Why did you mention that? Do you have a problem?

Once when I was 3 or 4 years old, my cousin came over to my house with a friend (My cousin and her friend were I think both 5 or 6 years old. So my cousins friend, I will give her the name Sarah, kept giving me dirty looks. She was sorta mean and I think was trying to get me away from being able to play or talk with my cousin. My first impression of her was that she was rude and just didnt like me. Now to the present time, I havent seen her since and I really dont remember how she looks like, but I remember her name and my first impression of her. As it comes to my surprise, my moms boss wants me to meet Sarah. And of course, the first thing that comes to mind was her first impression. My mom told me to forget the first time we met because we were pretty young. Now I am meeting her tomorrow and I am trying hard to forget my first impression of her. I dont know if she still remembers me, but hopefully she doesnt. This goes to say that first impressions are VERY important. I just hope that when I see her tomorrow, that we both get along. Because I think my moms boss wants us to be friends badly.

I need some help from you, amazing beautiful people on the internet.
I'm moving out for colleague.
My mom's friend's daughter is going to the same college but she rented an apartment for herself, she is searching for a roomie. We used to be kinda friends when little when our moms saw each other but it's been years since I last saw her.
I message her and told her if we should meet, cause maybe her mom is excited about the idea of sharing a place but maybe, just maybe we aren't meant for each other lol (that sounded like a romantic couple, I told her that, and she said that she does remember me, and she's excited about the idea of living with me (at least that's what she said by message.
So I want to keep this picture of a nice person cause I want to leave with her but in the last years, I've become a shy person and don't want to mess things up.
What things could we talk about? How do I start conversation? How can I avoid awkward silence? How could I make her feel comfortable about living with me?
Cause it is a first impression if you think about it, right?

The thing about not using filler words and thinking about what you're is going to say is how it'll be kind of frustrating if you guys are talking about the subject and you take too long to say what you're going to say and the other person changes the topic so it'd be really awkward to interrupt someone and bring it back to the previous subject, so you just have to forget about what you were going to say. Another thing that happens is you sometimes wait until just the right moment to say something but they end the conversation before you get the chance to say it. You could also be thinking about what you want to say and revising it a bunch of times to the point where you're not even paying any attention to what the other person is saying. You can enjoy stuttering and stuff if you don't want any of this to happen, and then make a strange habit of putting it into your writing and typing and stuff.

My super power is that I am exceptionally bad at first impressions, but that allows me to exceed expectations. If I'm a 7 in any given category, but I immediately come off as a 4, sure people are initially disappointed or displeased, but after a short time they recognize that I am Infact much better than 4, a 7! Thats nearly twice as good! But if I am flat out 7 and they see that, a 7 out of 10 is meh, that's a C, bearly passing. It's never intentional, but it always happens. Sure sometimes people are dissapointed and I never get the opportunity to change their mind, but it's okay because it has worked out in my favor numours times.

The PROBLEM isn't you but them! People are different & should be TAKEN the TIME to know them. Don't judge a book by it's cover! If they don't accept you for who you are, what you want to be & become then they're really not worth it. are they?
Peolple think that they are in someway way better or more perfect than others!
To me, just cheap one race thinkers! I'm EuroAsian! I'm made of two countries, two contenents! Two religions, doubled the horizon, doubled the thoughts in width & depth! & speak three languages!

People generally like talking about themselves more than listening to others, so if you want to leave a good first impression put a bit of a brake on your tongue and try to stimulate the other person to talk and show interest in what they say (this, of course, doesn't mean that you shouldn't talk about yourself at all, the other person will be interested to learn about you as well, just don't overdo it.

I used to be so bad at talking, especially in elementary & middle school. It was private school & people were really mean & blunt. They would immediately tell me to stop talking so much & critsize everything. Wasn't till I switched schools & in high school & young adult life I could have some confidence to really try to talk & have good, meaningful conversations with people.

This is a bad list, shy people, people with anxiety, or other issues will end up doing a lot of this, or people with little experience with socializing. Tbh if someone is thrown off by one instance of these things, with maybe one or two exceptions, I'd think they were too judgmental to be worth being friends with, or too impatient / unsympathetic.

Eh, I knew all those pretty well on beforehand: )
But. so I guess my question would be what kills your impression after some weeks/months of having getting to known someone?
As in did: I maybe making yourself seem like an too interesting of a person, doing first impression (having a high, rather if you have more low time most of the time?

You avoid eye contact. Well, thanks a lot! And sorry.
Every time when I'm trying to give an eye contact I'm instantly having an awkward feeling like I'm staring.
With guys I feel kinda pervie and creepy and when I'm with girls, I feel like they're thinking: Is he trying to score?

When you have adhd and do things like filler words and forgetting names and interumting people by accident
Me: , I think since I normally know when I interumt once I do it I then say what were you going to say? So maybe that part dosent make a bad impression aslong as you realize

It's hard to maintain eye contact when you're used to people either frowning, scowling, or giving you the biggest shit-eating grin at you for almost your entire life.
Having someone genuinely smile at me and say they enjoy my presence is an almost alien thought to me.

Another one Id like to add is using cuss words. It can make you seem arrogant or even unintelligent. You should give the other person enough time to see whether theyre comfortable with that sort of language too.

Bad advice is bad. Not everyone needs to be the same. You speak the way you speak, look at what you feel comfortable looking at, and people aren't perfect. You don't need to be anyone other than who you are!

Welp. I am terrible at remembering names so I'm screwed on that one, but after that It's easy for me to form connections what's difficult however is to keep them, at least that's my case

Oh, that's why she slowly leaves me. Filler words, interrupting her, complaining too much, I didn't pay attention to her a lot(answering the phone) and telling long stories

Being too quiet hurts really bad. The other person will see you as diffident, secretive and uninterested in them. Like said, conversation is indeed a two way process.
