On 2020 i suffered from mental abuse for around 1 year and half nonstop, there wasnt a single day i wouldnt get mentally abused, one day, it stopped, everything got better for a while, tho even tho everything was right, it didnt feel like it, it didnt feel like before, i wasnt myself, when i was younger i used to be the most extrovert person on the entire world, i talked with everyone, it was so easy to have friends, tho after that, i hated the idea of socializing, everything sucked, i just wanted to be alone by myself, not be with anyone, focusing was also really hard, i used to get 10/9 in exams tho now i get around 7/6, i dont finish most of the activities at school, i cant focus on them, i have to motivation to do anything, i dont care if i get good grades or not anymore, i dont care about myself, i got diagnosed with anxiety about 2/3 months ago, tho, its not new, i had it since the abuse started, i always tought of me having a mentall illness, but i didnt know wich one, i didnt want to selfdiagnose so i didnt care about it and ignored it for the longest i could, untill i couldnt resist it anymore, i talked about it with my family and well, thats how i know, i feel emotionally numb, i feel like i have no emotions at all, i cant even get sad, if i get happy, it only lasts for a short period of time, then vanishes, even tho im currently going to therapy, i dont feel like its changing me.

Thank you for posting this video. I have had so much difficulty identifying with what I have been experiencing. I'm constantly worried and restless all the time to the point where it's disrupted my life. These worries have consumed me so much that I've made what I call bets, which I have now discerned as magical thinking. Every moment of my life is badgered with magical thinking. Which cup I choose for breakfast, which shirt I wear, which place I put my phone, how long I brush my teeth for, and more are all connected to my magical thinking. I can't even get a respite from it.
In addition, I've also cut myself off from many of my friends, because I'm worried that they don't appreciate me or that they don't care about me. I have, too, found difficulty concentrating on the present moment, because I'm often someplace else, daydreaming or even fixating on another of my worries. The sense of unreality and mood swings are both symptoms I can relate to, and watching this video has made me realize so much.
I've suspected that I have anxiety and I even asked prior to this video if I could get help, but I've been assured multiple times that I don't have it and that I just worry too much. But now, I'm not even sure and I'm so desperate to talk to someone that can understand.
Thank you again so much for posting this video. I have watched your videos for a couple of months now and I'd just like to say that your videos are so helpful and enlightening.

I can tick a lot of things from this list, only 6 is exceptioonal and 7 is kind of moderated. I just got dropped out from university a week ago, because I picked a subject up 3 times and failed 3 times. I'm trying but time to time I fall back into a I don't feel like to do it, so I procrastinate then causing problem to my future self so I feel even worse again downward cycle. This cycle just caused to me a lot of setback and delays and it just stacked and grown too big. Though it is getting better and better overall, and the fallbacks has less depth, but I failed in the end. I think it is my basic setup combined with life events, but I am on the way to fix my bs inherited from my past. So I can say, right now I am on a zero sum outcome, but there is a long way to go forward. I just want to warn you, that if you don't reach out for help and work on yourself, it can cause an even worse outcome than mine, so do not be scared to ask for guidance from others. After all, when you become an adult, you are the one responsible for your own mental and physical health. Good luck and health on your healing journey!

I am mentally ill to a rather severe level. However, I am a danger to no one. Maybe people with mental diseases should just be left alone if they are a danger to nobody. I can not become an airline pilot, but can be a bus driver. I can not adopt children, but I can foster them. I can not become a mental health therapist, but I can be a parsons. I am disallowed to be in my nation's military, but I can own firearms. These ridiculous ironies apply to me simply because I am schizophrenic. I find this idiotic. It is not as if I am going to track someone down that reminds me of my first girlfriend, stalk her for months, get a fire axe and name it after her, then find out there is only room for one of them and I use my axe to eviscerate her, harvest her liver, boil it in her blood, feast upon it, then make sweet love to my axe. I will never do any of that.

even if I wanted to go to a therapy. I can't go to one or talk to somebody abt it
bcz
friends?
they're prob fake or I can't trust them
family?
I don't want to be judged by them
it'll make things worse than it already is
and especially my mum. she thinks that I should be perfect in every way and thinks that putting pressure will force me to not be lazy and make me better.
and it doesn't!
it just makes things worse and make us fight all the time
my dad thinks that im just being ungrateful
and my siblings are too young for this stuff
so if I i can't trust any of my friends and the only ones that i feel comfortable with won't accept it. I just need to be a therapy to myself
by making up a friend in my imagination and talk to them abt my problems maybe even crying without anyone noticing it

All of these are true. However, it makes me sad that society and people still label mental health problems as illnesses. It's not an illness, it's an intense emotional reaction due to events/circumstances. For anyone struggling with this, know that your body is actually creating this response in order to protect you. This is so important. Also we need to debunk the myth that people can't be completely healed. Please do your own research, specifically on memory reconsolidation, it's a pity that most people are not aware of this biological mechanism, because it is the brain's native, built-in capacity to nullify and erase emotional reactions that drive people to psychotherapy. It's the main reason I want to become a psychologist and help people completely heal themselves of these reactions.

Im a huge extrovert and love talking to people, but it never feels right. It always feels like Im a robot or something, just doing everything for everybody else. And while I do love talking to people, I can never actually be myself around anybody because I have this whole persona I keep up so people can like me. Its a huge problem and has made me feel worn out from always acting so energetic. but I cant really change anything about my situation because then nobody will like me. They all only like one side of me, not the other.

I am embracing myself that I do have mental health condition which is an anxiety depression as per what the doctor said. Ive been battling it since 2 years ago and it comes and go. I tried to open up with my family but it got dismissed as an excuse not to work. I got demotivated and still feel anxious everyday of what will I do if I completely shut off myself from them and society. It scares me but I try to fight it. Its an on-going battle with myself every second of the day.

I just want somebody to give me a sense of existence, a meaning to my life, I want something to avoid me from hearing my own thoughts and feelings. I feel everything is nonsense and goes nowhere, everythung is meaningless to me at this moment in my life and has been for some years now, don't know what but at this point I just feel numbness in all ways. I want to feel joy and happiness or accomplishment, like doing things for something bigger and more important than myself.

My husband is all of these things. I push positivity and in the 7 years with this Covert Narcissist he's gotten 4 raises. I'm happy that he can do this and I'm happy I'm worth it to be on this planet. My first husband succeeded so much and I do ( Blame ) lol myself. I give give give and one thing I do not like is a man that doesn't give of himself. There is something wrong with the male species

Don't trust teachers. They are only there to make their work. None of them, beside some heartfull exceptions will notice anything. And if they noices. they are not worried about (at least in early '90 in some european countries. Seriously who has children bevheaving oddly here. talk to 'em. Force them to talk. It may hurt the kids and their parents but let them to splill the bin!

What do we do in situations where searching for a professional guidance and help where you live with therapist that may stereotype with your race? like any concern you address to them are diminished because of stereotypes and Therapist that doesnt have the heart to be patient with their client to connect instead of getting them to reveal their trauma or issues right away?

I think I had to deal with some of those signs in my past. Fortunely all that is over for me now (thanks internet.
Reach for help guys, seriously. Or, at very least, try to search for trustful information about your problems. It's not going to be easy, in any way, but you can overcome your situation, that I can guarantee you.

I like the videos. I just get frustrated at the advice to talk to a mental health professional. I have very few options for therapy under my insurance. I keep asking for help and keep on getting declined by therapists or completely ignored. So I watch videos to try to figure it out myself. What else can I do?
reply

I highly suspect that I have a mental disorder (bp most probably) and want to see a professional about it. But my parents think that psychological things are just some bullsit so that I can't receive any treatment. I don't know hoe far I can continue like this. Writing this makes no sense but I just did.

Im all of these. Have been all of these for the past year and Ive tried to get help but there no point anymore.
My mom thinks its either because of my phone or because she did something wrong, she always says oh Im such a bad mother right? Nothing I do is enough for you.

My family got it in their head that i'm autistic within the last year. Haven't gotten tested for it and aside from their 'on the spectrum' talk getting kinda annoying it doesn't have any impact on my life so eh, they can think what they like for now.

i expierenced like 5/7 of these and i have symptoms of schizophrenia i used to hear voices but now i hallucinate i see stuff at the corner of my eye and one time i wad gonna use the bathroom and i saw a white figure and screamed and ran away

When i was a child, i actually welcomed derealisation; it was a much better way to get away from life than suicide. Over the years i accumulated so much potentially painful memory, that prospect of feeling again scares me more than anything.

I am being honest. Literally all the points mentioned in this video are happening in my life. Like I am losing interest in studies in which I was very good. And I don't feel like talking to someone. I don't why this happens
reply

What happens if you have nearly all of them?
Not to sound dramatic or anything but I have nearly all of them and well therapy is pretty expensive and still. My parents ask me why I need therapy when I look fine

reply

Can you make a video about tips of what to tell a profesional when you visit them? I keep being asked to visit one, but I always find myself in a situation where I don't really know what to tell them
reply

Yup. Therapy and medication are so great, theyre absolutely guaranteed to fix your situation Youre depressed? Talk to a stranger and take a pill then everything will be just fine!

reply

I not only agree with Psych2go videos. but the worst mistake is letting other people talk about you're own mental issues. because they might lie.
