How Your Mental Health Affects Who You Find Attractive

video description

Rating: 4.5; Vote: 2
How our mental health affects who we find attractive is important to cover because it sheds light on the complex and multifaceted nature of human attraction. While physical appearance certainly plays a role in who we find attractive, our mental health and emotional well-being can also influence our preferences and choices when it comes to romantic partners. Understanding the science of attraction and how our mental health factors into this process can have practical implications. For example, individuals who struggle with low self-esteem or mental health issues may find that they are drawn to partners who reinforce negative self-beliefs or engage in unhealthy relationship dynamics. By understanding the underlying psychological processes at play in attraction, individuals may be better equipped to recognize and address patterns of behavior that may be detrimental to their emotional well-being and relationships.

I hate people who are nasty to other people and who don't care about other people's feelings
I like more people who support each other like to help and are nice to each other
I like people who trust each other and who don't take advantage of other people's problems and instead help solve them
I don't know what that means and I just like to be in such an environment where I can help others and they can help me
I know it sounds weird but I love it

I have no chance. Mental abuse by my parents as a kid, depression since childhood, a lot of other nasty stuff you shouldn't go through, i really have no chance. I haven't changed who i am though, as many do say i'm a nice guy, and i can still get a bit rough, but that's only when i've had enough. I'm a very patient man, before i finally break and get mad. I still have no chance

This feels very real to me. Years ago, i was with one narcissist, and one highly anxious emotionally damaged person eith multiple personalities, which was traumatizing. I got therapy and realised how it happened, and this video further proves it. My self esteem/boundaries werent great and i just got so fed up and scared. Happily about to marry someone wonderful and supportive

I learned my lesson. I am attracted to nobody, and it will remain that way. Whenever I see a person, all I see is a potential fake and abuser. Loneliness is far milder an emotion than the crippling emotions, friends, can inflict upon us. I will allow no possibility of becoming someone else's subject of emotional abuse again. There is no need to be social.

I'm the complete opposite, one of my parents is incredibly kind and honest. I learned that's how the people I surround myself should be. So all my friends and the fictional characters I fall for match these treats. It's insane how something as simple as the the interaction between our parents in our childhood can shape and change all of our life.

I have epilepsy&wanted someone to understand like another special needs person(but not someone with epilepsy)to date because i think most guys won't understand epilepsy(unless they also have it) or the gene scn1a which lead me to blocking my ex for not understanding what scn1a is&made me think its for best

I could use a therapist, and maybe Psychedelics to go back into my childhood. I've spent too much time recently with women who are homeless. Giving them money(bad, food, clothes and a bit of companionship. Only to drain my bank account little by little. No wonder why I'm always single.

all of the flutes in the marching band have some romantic trouble in one way or another. 2 of us have trauma, most are just lonely, two are lonely and have bad taste(one is going for a rude person, one went for a bully)

Few months after my suicide attempt, I met a girl who was actively self harming and contemplating suicide. We ended up helping each other, and went our separate ways. This was years ago, and I guess I got lucky.

i knew there was a reason why so many people go crazy for broken emotionally unavailable older male characters who in practice would be terrible partners. i knew there was a reason.

Oh Hell No! Not only did psych2go just call Autism a disorder, they also suggested that Autistics in a relationship are toxic. When did they become such 20th century ableist? Shame on you!

My mother is in this situation where she is been in ON and OFF relationships with various men throughout her life and I never understood why. Maybe this is it.

This video made me wonder what made my late girlfriend attracted to someone like me. Unfortunately, it's now impossible to ask her without an Ouija board.

Holy shit. I need to boost this for the algorithm.
I have a friend who keeps falling for abusers and I feel they need this.

The calming voice of the young lady sets it off and they know that too which is why she was paid well to do this (I hope)
