I’m not a fan of Trump’s rhetoric and disagree with the economic battles he’s wagingbut what are the results:
- an emboldened Canada with concentration on sovereignty and what that constitutes
- an increase in defense spending to the point where Canada can meet its NATO obligations
I really appreciate and love all the comments from the Canadians in this thread and wish you all well - but you do have to realize that you cannot have a country the size that you do, and have a military with 67, 000 active personnel - rank 30th in the world - and believe that’s adequate to defend your nation.
You are nearly 100% reliant on the United States for your safety in this modern world - and that is not a knock on your military, whom I’ve worked with and are all fine men and women, very professional.
I’m encouraged that your defense spending is increased to the point where it’s close to or at the 2% of GDP NATO requirement - please maintain that!
The US deal in Greenland is historic and will keep N. American enemies away from our combined economic prosperity

The United States most optimistic situation is that they annex Canada as it is a house of cards. Canada doesnt really have much of a national identity hence is why they are so insecure towards America( Im sorry but ice hockey, tim hortons, and rainbow wokesim isnt a national identity. The older boomer Canadians are the most patriotic ones. The younger ones not so much. A lot of younger Canadians have woken up to the fact that Canada is ran by the globalists with their de- population agenda. Anyways with that said Quebec would almost certainly put up the most resistance and if i were Trump I would just give them theyre independence. They arent worth the headache. I would also give Newfoundland independence as well as the maritime provinces. The Laurentian elites in Canada can migrate there and have they're small piece of land to run it like a gay globalist european country like they want it to be. This new country could be called Laurentia consisting of Pei, Nova scotia, and New brunswick. And this is coming from one fed up indigenous person from Canada.

Trump, Ghi, and Putin.
They're goal is a global tri-lateral autocracy.
Redrawing border lines where Ghi controls asia SE and global south, Putin controls Eurasia, and Trump controls the western hemisphere.
These aspirations throw us back into imperialism and throws out sovereignty.
Like each American's individual sovereignty and value of the individual and individual rights and sovereignty Trump, Ghi, and Putin all care nothing for this concept.
Both on the geopolitical level as well as the individual level.
Think of what life would be in America if this concept of individual rights and sovereignty were abandoned.
John Locke and Thomas Jefferson would be rolling in their grave.
Power corrupts,
Absolute power corrupts absolutely

It's always one way. The border is artificial they say but they don't view it like a two way gate, they don't want the other country freely passing. So for Canada and US, Trump says it's artificially drawn line, then why do they require a passport after September 11 It's artificial for US military basically to come into Canada, not for Canadians to go to US. For US dominance seeking corporations and scammers to freely enter Canada, but not for that scary socialist culture to infringe on US (Canada far from socialism btw. Border is artificial for the country that wants to invaders to invade but not for the other country to pass that 'artificial line' not while that country exist.

This video over emphasises the effect of trade policy and money on the Canadian willingness to give up their sovereignty. It also seems to imply that Canadian exports to the USA will not find alternative markets, and that all the jobs associated with those exports will be lost if they can no longer be exported to the US. The reality is that Canadian exports will be wanted by other countries, and the cost change will come down to the cost to transport the goods to the new market. The USA over emphasises the value of money, and it can be seen in what its society values. It can also be seen in what is emphasised in this video. Sovereignty is not for sale

I can tell you as a Canadian America didn’t ask for anything that threatens our economy America simply asked Canada do we have to cater to your culture you see we force their companies to put French AND English language on all their products but the kicker is this Canada wants to force American streaming services to make and pay for French and First Nations content AND they want American social media outlets to pay for Canadian media a media who is already propped up by Canadas government a media that I might add shits all over America any chance it gets or strangely enough gets all excited if America mentions Canada at all

If Satanic trump ever consider putting any of this immoral absurd idea of annexation Canada into our American bill (or whatever political term we use, and hence stimulating an international and civil war. I think more Americans will stand up and fight this destructive idiotic president who is ruining whatever peace, order, and prosperity that our modern civilization had achieved through many trials and mistakes from the past. It feels like a unbelievable, horrible and painful dream that Americans have been experiencing these past 2 years, we want to be woken up from this! We love and respect our Canadian neighbors

As a Canadian, I can honestly say I wish america WOULD break us and conquer us. Our government doesn't care about the first Nations or the people who are born here and have generations of history. They've sold us all out in exchange for new immigrants that will vote how they want, work for less, and not complain because literally anywhere is better than where they came from. We have no rights and an oppressive government. HELP US
Also I don't recall anybody polling Canadians about how we feel about America so idk where your pulling your numbers out of but they're smelling suspiciously like shit.

17: 05 because world reserve currency was british pound.
You then conveniently forget to mention the global mandatory pivot to US dollar ie breton woods system
and how it made logical sense to hoard us dollars as all gulf countries gradually started demanding payments for oil in us dollars
so conveniently selling your goods to southern land neighbor to accumulate massive amounts of us dollars Just made sense!
the breton woods system was (and still is) only reason canada wants (and needs) the us dollar.

The Canada accused the US. The truth is that the US decided to try to slip new terms into the agreement, ones which not only were not agreed upon, but hadn't even been discussed. That is totally disrespectful. What those terms wanted was worse: Canada giving up the decision making of safety for food and many other products to the US. We allow the US to have first choice of all our resources, and they get to set the price. The US can dictate who we can make agreements with. There's more than that too.

The history isn't with Canada, but rather the US's former colonial maters who also happened to the the super power of the day and repeatedly tried to retake the US and force it back into Brittan. Of course the US was going to try to remove the British foothold in North America. Once Canada started its path to independence, all violence stopped.
Also, joining together as one country would be bad for the US. Outside of Alberta, (and maybe Saskatchewan) Canada would be a drain on US resources.

TDS is a real mental illness people shoul go seek help for it. There is help for it. And in 2 yrs time the liberal government will have to find a new boogeyman to blame for all their failures, cause orange man will be out of office playing golf somewhere, so he won't be there to blame anymore. The liberals will not be able to blame conservatives either cause tgey are not a majority anymore the liberals are. So they have 2 yrs to find a new boogeyman!

The funniest part is that you all believe Carney is there to help you, most of his assets are in the USA. He's purposely crumbling the Canadian economy with no risk to his own wealth. Face the facts, you've hired about 10 Eskimo doge sled teams for your entire military because you know that America has been paying your entire defense budget. And all you get out of the deal from the Canadian gov is crappy hospitals with a long wait time.

Ah yes, the US nightmare of healthcare and all the problems and debts that comes with it. US polarized political culture with little to no laws or regulation in media that each side must be portrayed fairly and equally. US Oligarchs using money to lobby and push control. a militarized police force that seems to go for a gun faster then most countries militaries. RIGHT.
Stand firm Canada with best wishes from Scandinavia.

1 leftist dont believe in boarders and think they're ALL artificial lines. otherwise they wouldnt be so for illegal immigrants and wanting more into the boarder because no one is illegal on stolen land. 2. the entirely of the middle east wasn't arbitrary, on the contrary. it was extremely deliberately drawn by the fallen ottoman empires enemies of the sole purpose of causing divide.

Math still don't work guys, Europe is bigger than US by the millions of people, sluggish economy 'cause, while all the others are burning coal to outpoisoin their land first. Here we go down our route, if brothers in Canada want to share resources with us, and less with US. Consider a drop in cost for energy, in an already optimized and greener infrastructure. Do the math

Trump may be a skid mark in the fabric of humanity, but he's not wrong about one thing; the US and Canada merged would be an absolute powerhouse of a nation. Notice he's not making that offer to any other country
The reaction however, has shown just how much Canada secretly hates the US. That thin veneer of niceness proved to be as fake as Trump's claims of genius.

The US does not need another failing blue state. Trump does not want that. What he wants is a friendly neighbor that can be trusted - that leaves Canada out. Canada is colluding with China and the EU as Carney slowly destroys the economy and the relationship. The US does not want a socialist or communist country on its border. That is globalist direction Carney is taking it.

I'm watching this while working, so I apologize if the video said this, but they built the Gordy Howe bridge to replace the previous bridge because it was owned by one private businessman who refused to invest money to repair it but controlled all the tolls on the roughly 25% of all trade between USA and Canada that happened to flow over the bridge.
