Kudos to you - this is HANDS DOWN one of the best tutorials I've ever seen. It was clear, step by step, and very easy to follow. I loved the summary you did at the end. Most tutorials gloss over a step or do, assuming you know it. I go nuts because that's usually the step I don't know how to do.
If you could assist me with another issue. I made a 5 1/2 minute video for a piano student. I wanted to trim the first 10 seconds. I spent hours trying to get that to work, and then to send it to the student. I tried on my phone first, but it's almost full and wouldn't cooperate. I tried to trim it on my laptop, but there's not an -edit- button on photos for some reason. So I went to gallery on my phone and got it trimmed. But then I couldn't send the video! Anywhere! My student doesn't have messenger or FB. I tried Google Drive and that didn't work. I tried emailing- No luck. I copied the link and tried to email and text that. The student said she couldn't open it up. WHAT do I do????
One more thing - do you have a tutorial on making short movies with photos and short video clips, or can direct me to a good one? Like I said above, there are so many tutorials out there that are useless to me, or poorly made. THANKS!!

A very well made step by step guide from a very tech savvy person.
Unfortunately for me, it did not quite reach to the issues that are currently preventing me from using the application. I like to use Google Drive to store my photos and videos because I can create folder, subfolders and share them quickly with others. I also like the traditional layout more as a traditional way of albums. Google Photos would be great if it would sync to Google Drive rather than Google Photos. I would like the option to auto back up created albums only rather than including the Camera album too! There are over 3000 pics in my camera album and as a new user, I don't want to go back and upload all of those now as they need time to get sorted. It looks like I may stick with the gallery app on my phone for now and upload the albums I have created there to Google Drive as it is best suited to my needs and, oddly, has better functionality with Google Drive. Unless you see a solution to these issues?

Hi,
You mentioned different ways on where to save the photo. I am interested in knowing how to save the phone with the description box open giving info on each photo.? I am doing inventory and all of the model number year it was bought and other info needs to be seen. Now I share them with someone else and she saves them as a pdf file. A jpeg file cannot be seen clearly. Would you know how I can do this directly from photos. ? Do not have a computer . Once the photo is in my photos system and deleted I loose that on all of the other places I had them in unless she saves them as a pdf. Any ideas??

I love Google Photos for my own use but when I share a link to people very often they can't download the images or videos - it's often people with iPhones - I give up most of the time and end up putting the files on Dropbox or WeTransfer them - very frustrating - I can't find an answer anywhere why some people can't download - do they need the Google Photos app on their phone to make it work.

how do you upload google photos to a website? I tried to download them to my pictures and it says that this file doesn't have a program associated with it for performing this action. Does it mean I have to download a program like Gimp, let's say to be able to edit the photos and then download them to a website or Craigslist.

When you turn on the Google photos option in google drive does it count against your 15k limit as long as your pictures are kept at -high quality-? If your Google photos are turned on in drive and you have download and sync on your computer are the photos then available through the computer download and sync app?

When I download photos onto my desktop, they are in a zip file. When I try to retrieve them to make a photo online, the photo book site says that it is unable to read that type of file. How can I download my photos in a different file other than a zip? Can they be transferred or formatted to a different file?

So these photos are not physically on the device and take up no room. Would you completely ignore Photos app on the apple devices? Time machines does back up photos in Photos, but would not back these up, of course. Great intro for me, but I do have some questions to follow up on.

only works with cellphone cameras? the damn thing keeps sucking up the pix from my CAMERA and I can't edit them in this gadget. let me use Picasa without having to restart the computer to get my images in there! this is useless to me. I don't want ANY of this automated junk.

How can I bulk download in google photos at the minimum file size -90 KB
Currently my google photos bulk download zip all the photos with a size of -600 KB each one
If I Save as- only one photo it is great! -60 KB but I need bulk download
