Learn how to use the SUMIFS function in Excel. This useful function enables you to add up specific cells based on criteria that you specify Noah: What if my 3rd criterion is a single selection from a drop down list instead of another full range of data like -Genre-? How would this formula be created? Would it still be a SUMIFS function or something else?
P.S. I am trying to figure this out for a real application. I am trying to sum values of different trading accounts by account type. I am not able to list a single cell with the account type in quotes. For example... -Trading- or -Roth IRA-

How do you overcome a problem when both or more criteria ranges are actually in 1 column , say if you use SUMIFS and try to add up the cost of DVD and BLUE RAY in a single cell it wont work??? Anyone has any ideas????

Hi, thanks for the video, it's useful! However, what if the -criteria range- is to choose the integral number out of a set of data containing both integral and decimal point of number? I'm having a headache in this ;/
