You guys wanna know so thing Europa the sister later gave birth to three sons on Crete (where she became queen. And one of them was future king Minos. And when he pissed of posideon, the god cursed his wife to fall in love with the bull that king Minos was supposed to sacarfuce to posideon. And so for the wife to do the thing with the bull, she asked Daedalus (Also known as the guy that flew with Icarus who ended up flying too high the wings melted and he died) to craft her a bull she can go into to. do the thing anyways she gave b8th to the Minotaur. And we all know how that story goes- (Fun fact: Dionysus married Ariadne the daughter of king Minos, and they are actually both 2nd cousins I’m pretty sure. Hey not as bad for Greek mythology)

Makes me want to write a story of someone trying to win a favor from the gods. Usually through deeds that the gods favor. Rescuing a sick bird that turns out to be a peahen and sending it to the temple of Hera, where the peacock is sacred. Helping a sick dolphin recover and return to it's pod for Poseidon. Finally the person asks for the favor: to make death less scary. The person becomes a psycopomp!

Cadmus: Oracle, my father has sent me to you for guidance on how to rescue my sister!
Oracle: Okay dude, so here’s what you’ve gotta do. You’re gonna find this holy cow. You’re gonna _follow_ this cow. And then, WHEN IT LAYS DOWN, you’re gonna found a city in that _exact. spot. _
Cadmus: but that has nothing to do with you know what, never mind

At our university classes one of our professor said, A myth never dies. It's always carried out through human existence. Now I realize the truthness of it.
Thank you Ted-Ed for this amazing video. Actually every video of Ted-Ed is excellent. I definitely love them always.

how ironic: I was recently looking up Greek based names for an original character, and Cadmus was among the names that I was considering. his myth was interesting to learn about on my own research, and equally fascinating to learn about through Ted Ed's wonderful art style.

0: 17 Ares just hiding behind Zeus poking people There’s something so funny about the idea that the Gods are just lounging above the ether, futsin around with mortals for no good reason. Just imagine you feel a supreme being pokes you out of nowhere

I mean, Cadmus didn't really do anything wrong. I guess the Gods didn't plan on him not being cool with Zeus taking his sister.
Bro chill, it's not a big deal
Yeah you're right, I never liked my sister anyways

Jeez, these gods were the worst. I mean, Cadmus and friends did as the Oracle said, this never mentions if he even got Europa back, and yeah, this was all started by Zeus, who was never held accountable for his actions.

There’s more too! Hephaestus hated Harmonia for being Ares and Aphrodite’s daughter, so he gave her a magic necklace that cursed her with misfortune, which was why her family met such terrible ends.

To be honest ' naga shapam' is deeply rooted in Hinduism as well. There are prayers and poojas (rituals ) offered in the name of naga ( snake ) to relieve people affected by the curses to this day.

I think it was good that Ares closed the doors of Greek mythology by waging a war against gods (although for its hared for humans) so that Greek gods can finally not f##k with humans

Oracle: Go found a new city somewhere,
Cadmus: What about my sister
Oracle (sarcastic): What about your sister
Every divine force in the universe just hated this family.

The gods meddling in the lives of people causes so much chaos for the people they toy with. If you catch the attention of the gods, you might as well consider your life ruined.

Something that I think is missed on us modern audiences about the ancient myths is the concept of Destiny that the Greeks had, which I can't properly articulate sadly

You have to admire the art as well as the musical choices; it all fits so well with the video’s style! I always enjoy it when a new mythology video is released!

Were gods really that spiteful back then They would (from my perspective) use their powers to shape what they think is right in the form of curses and manipulation
