Trace the history of rats, from their emergence in Asia to how they became the most successful invasive species in the world. -- Today, rats are often regarded as the most successful invasive species in the world. The most common species of rat scurried onto the scene roughly 1 to 3 million years ago in Asia. There, they craftily survived Earth’s most recent ice age, and eventually, began living around and with humans though often at the mercy of human priorities. Max G. Levy traces the entangled history of human and rat.

4: 43 - Proofread your scripts. Rats raised with toys and companions had thicker cortical brain tissue than those who didn't is shorthand for Rats raised with toys and companions had thicker cortical brain tissue than those who didn't have thicker cortical brain tissue. Well, duh. Rats with longer legs have longer legs than rats who don't have longer legs. The full statement intended is Rats raised with toys and companions had thicker cortical brain tissue than those who WEREN'T raised with toys and companions. So the shorthand SHOULD be Rats raised with toys and companions had thicker cortical brain tissue than those who WEREN'T. Not didn't. Didn't is just wrong. Proofread the script before you film.

It is absolutely insane how this little creature has made a profound impact on human civilization as a whole that now, we simply can’t imagine the world without them. Plus, because of their prolific nature, the idea of eradicating them entirely is a myth and since they’re also prey for many creatures in a lot of ecosystems, their place in the food web has instantly became an unwelcome addition. As the saying goes, if you can’t beat them, join them.

Rats were likely a factor in the famous deforestation of Easter Island. Hitchhiking alongside the original travelers from Southeast Asia, they were introduced to a land with bountiful food and no natural predators. Combined with humans clearing the land for agriculture, rats eating palm seeds transformed the island into the treeless landscape it is today.

4: 25 Rats are unrivaled lab animals.
Except perhaps by mice, which are smaller and more widely used in cancer and genetic research. That said, rats are the better choice for cognitive and behavioral research, and as someone who has worked with both, I can attest that rats display a lot more personality than mice.

We have an advanced technology capable of truly advancing science. There is no need to experiment on rats and we have no right to use rats or any other animal in needless experiments. It is pseudo science for sadistic mindsets.

You can watch Piratesoftware in his Dire Maul run where two of his teammates died in World of Warcraft Hardcore if you are interested in learning more about rats, their behavior and the way they think.

Sometimes I think that humans didn't actually conquer this planet and remake it to suit us, but instead other organisms discovered we are super easy to manipulate into doing their bidding.

Humans would have been eradicated by yersina pestis if it was not for cats
Cats truly are gods

The rats may be extremely succesfully, but ironically they depend a lot from us humans, to the point that if we would disappear their population would drop in just a few decades

I thought you talk about the universe 25 experiment. That maybe tell us more than a simple history, about our future as humans in a single planet. (sorry for my poor english)

Rats make good pets. They are smart and have good personalities.
They, along with roaches, are going to inhabit this planet and any other we visit.

They can trace their secondary origins to mother sheet rock and father insulation. Which they were born from and love to eat.
