Shout out to the much creepier version in which the connections between the two brain hemispheres are severed, leading people to seemingly having two minds, each controlling one half of their body. Perhaps somewhat appropriately, this surgery was commonly done for schizophrenia, which means split mind, though the name refers to a split between the mind and reality.
Made even more terrifying by the fact that only one hemisphere is capable of speech, meaning that only one of those minds can tell others how they feel.
Feel free to reply with additions and corrections. I truly appreciate them.

Fun Fact: Freeman and Watts performed most of their Lobotomies at George Washington University Hospital. Freeman was so giddy about his Icepick Lobotomy procedure that he drove a van across the US to perform lobotomies wherever he could, performing a horrific 4, 500 lobotomies himself. There is also a story where Watts, after leaving Freeman's office over an argument regarding lobotomies, returned to said office only to find Freeman with a patient on the desk performing a lobotomy on them.
To say that Freeman was Eager to perform these procedures is an understatement.

Bad video. The animation on this one is awful -not the quality, or style, but the depictions present an _extraordinarily_ biased result. For sure, lobotomies and the popularity for awhile was horrendous, the visuals in the animation present a distinct perspective.
Oh, and talk about cherry picking information regarding Rosemary Kennedy. She had severe developmental disabilities, likely due to problems surrounding her birth, but you present her as essentially completely normal until the lobotomy, which is a complete lie.

The rise and fall of the lobotomy are both fascinating and tragic, a stark reminder that science without ethics can cause irreversible harm. This story underscores the importance of accountability in medical progress!

This video is a disturbing and thought-provoking look at the history of lobotomy, a medical procedure that was once widely accepted but has since been largely discredited.

It’s really scary how just being different in that time could have literally condemned you to that fate. This video sheds light on so much controversial history.

The fact that lobotomies were once accepted as a treatment of mental issues should remind us that we should never become too sure of our own understanding.

He knows that you have to laugh at the things that hurt you just to keep yourself in balance, just to keep the world from running you plumb crazy.

This is actually terrifying to me, I can’t imagine having something as important as your literal cognitive ability to determine threats taken away

This sounds like something out of a 2000s dystopia. A perfect world where everyone is happy because no one is themselves anymore

Can you make a video about how the safety procedures around the world started. And basically all OSHA and IOSHA related thingies.
