. seriously. well another fact is that it's been proven that plants feel pain, and can communicate, and respond to certain stimuli. so. when you buy a potato at the store, that potato is still alive, if you planted it it would grow. so when you peal the skin off, you are skinning it alive, then cutting it up and boiling it in water, or frying it. or putting it whole into a microwave and radiating it to DEATH. everything has a story. lol

It's clever and all, but as the only chain they show that leads from detritus to humans is the one with mushrooms in it, my students are likely to say doesn't apply to me, I don't eat mushrooms and ignore it. I'd like some of the sequence to show where the detritus goes into the food that a picky 12 year old would eat.
