It takes a lot of fuel to heat our homes, preserve our food, and power our gadgets. And for 40 percent of the world, cheap, plentiful coal gets the job done. But coal also releases pollutants into the air, causing environmental damage like acid rain and serious health problems. Can we create a cleaner version of coal? Ok kids. Lets go tell China and India to stop using coal for energy.
All our cell phones, televisions, and nearly every other consumer product at your local Amazon online are made in coal burning China.
Rare earth metals like Lithium-Ion cells needed to run every electrical device from Teslas cars to your cell phones for example, are made predominantly in coal burning China with rare exceptions.
Nearly every type of industrial chemical or additive or synthetic polymer used to make paints, tires, cooking pans, leg and face shaving blades for grooming, cosmetics, hair products, and an endless list of everything modern western societies use to make life livable, come from hydrocarbon based chemistry and reactions are many times made in coal burning China.
I always find it entertaining when uneducated people speak forcefully and powerfully about how we need to stop using fossil fuels and transition to renewables like wind and solar.
You kids could not afford the cost per kilowatt of exclusively renewable generated electricity. Only the few very richest liberal tech guys and some socialist politicians would thrive, while virtually everyone commenting here would live in darkness and poverty.
When I can see environmentalists live like the Amish I will get religion.

Cheap? Nope! A 1, 000 megawatt coal-fired power plant will burn 10, 000 tons of coal per day. At 50/ton, that would be 50, 000 per day. That cost needs to be passed on to rate payers. And coal does not contain chemical energy as chemical bonds don't store energy. Energy is released during combustion when chemical bonds are formed not broken. Coal has pathetic energy density in comparison to uranium. Burning a kilogram of coal yields at most 35 megajoules of energy whereas fissioning a kilogram of uranium yields 80, 000, 000 megajoules of energy. Combined cycle natural gas--fired power plants release 60% less CO2 per unit of energy than coal. Hydropower can be used when there is no wind or sun as can geothermal energy. So, no, coal is absolutely not needed.

Regulation is absolutely NOT the best way to fix the problem. Climate change will continue, whether we keep on emitting CO2 into the atmosphere or not (Albeit at a slower rate. The only way to stop it is to get the technology to do so, which is primarily fueled by economic growth. Therefore, we should stop regulation and let these companies do as they please in order to save our planet.

The best way to get rid of CO2 is to do artificial photosynthesis. There's studies that came out recently which talk about using catalysts and energy from the sun to convert CO2 into other things such as formic acid and small hydrocarbons.

We can store carbon dioxide in a container and force sunlight to enter the container and than the sunlight will be trapped and we can take heat from the container and after using we can force carbon dioxide in the deep of the earth.

Regulations will do nothing but strangles economies and make products more expensive for the consumer, what would be batter is to teach from a young age, good energy-saving habits in schools and in-home to help the environment.

Oh, come on! Carbon dioxide isn't a pollutant, it's an essential gas and without it no multicellular life would exist! In fact, it would be better if carbon dioxide levels grew substantially!

Well, my electricity should be coming from renevable sources, but coal does lurk in the construction costs of turbines and such. I really hope humanity can solve this issue.

Now the question is where you're going to put all those remaining after filtration gases (the gases which have produced during filtration process)
