Am i the only one who believes there was a similar nuclear crisis between NATO and Russia in summer 2016? I mean, it could be fake news but i saw many articles saying countries preparing for war under name of joint exercises, movement of russian nuclear weapons to Kalinigrad, huge defense exercises in Russia, even news articles telling how to prepare in case of war between us and russia ( saying due to increased tensions ). Politicians ( especially Putin) talking about war. I am just a normal person but from what i remember, it really felt like there was a crisis just like the 1962 one. We may never know or we will much later in time. Maybe they even reached defcon 2 again.

There's a lot more to the re story like the fact that Vasili Arkhipov and his crew stayed in the sub which was overheating and maxed at an astonishing 75 degrees celsius, they no hyperbole, suffered.
The saddest part tho is that Vasili and his crew were never truly acknowledged by the government instead it is said in many accounts that their higher ups told them it would have been better if they'd drowned with the submarine.
Vasili sadly passed away in 1998 due to Kidney Cancer caused by radiation.
He was such a selfless man and when his wife talked to him about the injustice of the event he didn't want to hear about it, he was truly a hero.

by putting nuclear war heads in turkey which would be the same for both Right next to each other.
and the us had more nukes the the Ussr it was 10 to 1
and almost Kennedy administration nuked Moscow.
and if they worked it out with negations instead of straight up invading, more American live could have been saved and have avoided this. and the this wasn't till seven years later we found out about this. Kennedy didn't want to look like a puss. So he hid it

You forgot to mention that Kennedy refused Nikitas first proposal that if the USA removes missiles from turkey and Italy they will remove theyr missiles from Cuba and that USA refused because than NATO would shatter into nothing.
Not because of USA doing what USSR wanted, but because USA was planning to bring more powerfull missiles and aim tham at Eastern Europe.
Ou and what about the terrorist attacks on Cuba by USA?

I remember learning about this in my 3rd year studying political science, I wonder how terrified the world would have been then. I don't think the North Korea and American crisis comes close.
