The first historic person named Arthur and really existed was Arthur Duke of Brittany (France) 1187-1203. The name Arthur was introduced to legend by ancient french story tellers 4 centuries after legendary King Arthur Era. If the king Arthur really existed and was historic (like king Alexander, the name Arthur would have been common and widespread in England since 7th century and before the Normand invasion (like the name Alexander in the Greek world. The name Arthur was introduced to England by french normands and bretons (just like Richard, Roger. and plenty other names. All the names in this legend are french: Merlin, Lancelot, Camelot, Guenievre, Percival, Broceliande, Avalon. and this means that the authors and the origin of this legend weren't in England.

i know for true they cast melted metal into swords long ago. they cast them in stone and after the metal solidifies behold and lo a sword of bronze or steel. before the developed the forging technique i dunno just check the metal tech of those era

I just recently found out King Arthur and Merlin never existed in real life. It was quite a heartbreak. I truly wish they once walked the surface of the Earth I'm living on right now

If people continue to look for King Arthur, Excalibur and Camelot they will always find nothing!
I have no doubt however in the existence of Arthur the warrior/battle leader.
