Its an increasingly common sight in hospitals around the world: a nurse measures our height, weight, blood pressure, and attaches a glowing plastic clip to our finger. Suddenly, a digital screen reads out the oxygen level in our bloodstream. How did that happen? Sajan Saini shows how pairing light with integrated photonics is leading to new medical technologies and less invasive diagnostic tools. Lesson by Sajan Saini, directed by Artrake Studio. Bruh I kinda noticed this when I was a kid and we were playing with flash lights and holding it below our fingers and we see the red color and bone outline.
Nvm the scene where they say to flash a flashlight thru fingers scene just came up lololol
Nice to see the textual and scientific explanation: )

You can actually do this yourself!
Use the flashlight on your phone at a dark place and
place it in your finger. Move up and down slowly and you
can see your veins!

Ngl
I thought there was a needle in that thing
The reason behind me thinking that is because I was such a baby and wss extremly afriad of needles

I wonder if one day we would invent a pocket sized chip/lab using light to check the cleanliness of our hands, like if we washed it properly or not
